I have many friends that are struggling to find good life partners but are ready to dedicate their lives to a loving man and hopefully start a family soon.
One of my dear friends who is also 36 years old asked me if I could pray with her as she has been looking for a good husband from God for a while now.
Another of my husband and I’s friend is also in the same situation.
She is so ready to commit and have a child of her own but is looking for a good man to settle with.
That is what inspired me to write this post today.
I never share any of my religion or faith opinions on this blog.
In fact, I tend to keep my relationship with God very private and only share with a very, very tight circle.
So if you are thinking this is a full Christian blog, it is not.
I wanted to be upfront with you in terms of that, but I will be sharing a few faith posts as I am a Christian and God has brought me so much success, especially with a good husband, loving daughters and a stable job.
What more can you ask for?
I am forever grateful and thankful to him.
With that in mind, my first faithful post is a list of strong bible verses for singles who want to get married.
I prayed and manifested for marriage with my now-husband.
I truly believe in affirmations for marriage and prayed to God to get what I wanted in my life.
And it came to pass.
We all deserve to be with the right person and that person has to understand us and our flaws.
So if you are here looking for great scriptures on finding a life partner, you have come to the right place.

10 Bible verses for finding a life partner
1. Hope for the future
Here is one of the most powerful bible verses for singles who want to get married.
Job 42:12
“The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the earlier years.”
This scripture is extremely beautiful and powerful.
For those that are waiting for the right person to come along, you need to understand you are not waiting just for the sake of waiting.
All blessings are of the Lord, temporal and spiritual; and sometimes the last days of a good person are their best.
I love that the Lord has given us this promise and that we can take heart in the fact that the blessing sometimes comes later on in life.
Hold on to this hope and your person will come.
2. All things come to those who wait
If you are looking for great bible verses about finding a good husband to help inspire you, this one is it.
It’s all about patience.
The best thing single Christians can do when it comes to finding a future spouse is to be patient.
It’s all about the right time.
Waiting is a challenge, especially for those that see no end in sight.
But we all know that patience is a virtue, and many of us know that patience is listed by Paul in Galatians 5:22-23 as among the fruit of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control…”
In other words, we need to learn to be patient when God is working for us.
You prayed and asked to be blessed with a loving husband.
Now it’s time to be patient.
We mustn’t rush into the next available relationship because you feel that this is the person for you.
We need someone that has all the qualities we desire.
Not someone that will break your heart with every chance that they get.
That is not the right person for you and definitely not one that you should marry.
You have to be patient while waiting for the right person.
We must be patient and trust in God for a perfect partner.
3. Building your home
I would like to think I have built a good home for my own family.
And one bible scripture that encouraged me to build a good home that my husband and children can come to every night is:
Proverbs 14:1
The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
Everyone wants to build a life they love but do they have the right materials to build that life?
The scripture tells us that wisdom is the key component to building a life of honour, legacy, and strength.
A wise woman will build her home with love and works with willing hands to have order in her home.
It’s all about your attitude to life.
When you wake up each morning, how do you start your day?
Do you feel frustrated before your feet hit the floor or do you wake up with a smile and a cheerful greeting?
When we think of a woman building her home, being a good wife, mom and homemaker come to mind.
If you want a husband and you are serious, he needs to see these qualities in you.
Are you wife material?
Life can be challenging, bad things can and do happen, and sometimes life is just truly hard.
But it’s important that we shift our attitude and mindset to one that reflects a good attitude.
With the help of Jesus, you can do that.
We can embrace our role as homemakers when we realize how special that role really is!
We have been given resources, experience, and knowledge.
Use those things wisely to build up, or we can foolishly choose to tear them down.
4. Finding your soulmate
It is written that God will give favour to those that find a wife.
So you can rest assured that someone is searching for you.
Proverbs 18:22
He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord.
A prudent wife is from the LORD,” says Proverbs 19:14.
So, we can be confident that Proverbs 18:22 implies that “He who finds a good wife obtains favour from the Lord”.
And Proverbs 12:4 confirms, “A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.”
A virtuous wife, bringing favour from the Lord, is both wise and humble, strong and gentle.
Through her judicious business dealings, forward-thinking, competence, tireless work, and strength of character, she enhances the family’s dignity!
She also adds esteem to her husband’s reputation and is deeply loved by her entire household.
For these reasons, her children call her blessed, and her husband praises her, saying: “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”
5. A man needs a woman
An old phrase that appears to be more true than not goes something like this: “Behind every successful man, there is a strong woman.”
This led me to believe that men do need strong women in their lives.
Sometimes I wonder if my husband would find his way without me.
Genesis 2:18
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
God created Adam, the first man, and “put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it” (Genesis 2:15).
He gave Adam all of the trees for food, with the exception of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which God told Adam he was not to eat from or he would “surely die”.
Then the LORD God said, ‘It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him” (Genesis 2:18).
Adam was not physically alone, as he had animals and even communion with his Creator.
But God knew that was not enough.
The man needed someone like him, someone on the same level who saw, experienced and learned the same way he did.
So, God created the perfect match for man.
He created the woman (Genesis 2:22).
This goes to show that men do need women and there is a man out there for you.
Trust that you will not be alone forever.
6. Bringing couples together
Plenty of my single friends are worried about ever finding love.
With so many broken relationships these days, it seems that love no longer exists and your special one will never come.
If God can promise that the animals and birds He spoke about in Isaiah 34 will not be without a mate, how much more the humans His Son Jesus Christ died for.
Isaiah 34:16
Seek and read from the book of the Lord: Not one of these shall be missing; none shall be without her mate. For the mouth of the Lord has commanded, and his Spirit has gathered them.
If He can do that for animals and birds, He will certainly make sure that all of His children who are old enough for marriage get married.
For those looking for scriptures on finding a man, this particular verse says search in the LORD’s book of living creatures and read what it says.
Not one of these creatures will be missing, and not one will be without its mate.
The LORD has commanded it to be so; he himself will bring them together.
Jesus himself told us that we are of more value than the sparrows which are birds that don’t worth much.
If a man is worth more than birds and animals, and He will not allow the beasts of the field and forest, and the owls and vultures to be without a mate, definitely, no daughter or son of His, will be without a mate.
You won’t be without a mate.
7. A Man shall leave his home
God wants you to be married, there is no doubt about that.
He basically says that Man must leave—or “forsake”—both of their parents and hold fast to—or “stick to”—their wives.
They must become one flesh together.
This is unmistakable, because of the way God designed this relationship between the two of them.
Genesis 2:24
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
This verse implies significant ideas about how cultures should function.
The Bible makes clear, though, that a man’s duty is to forsake his parents in the sense that he transfers his loyalty from them to his wife.
Providing, living with, and caring for her must take priority in his life over doing the same for his parents.
At the end of the day, a man will leave his house to come to you.
Just be sure to pray about it.
8. Pray to receive a partner
You are going to love this scripture.
It is one of the best bible verses for singles who want to get married!
Mark 11:24
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
God is telling us that if ask you of him, we need to trust it will come to be and whatever we desire he will give.
We ask things in prayer, but God already knows about those things, and He has already provided for them even before we know enough to ask.
When we finally do ask, we have shown that we understand God’s will about it.
He gives us an understanding of His will through the Holy Spirit.
God has many times answered my prayer, and looking back I have noticed that He had always been there arranging circumstances to prepare me for the next challenge to come.
By the time I asked in prayer, the wheels were already in motion to achieve what had to happen.
The miracle is, that God acts before we pray.
When we are led by the Holy Spirit to pray, it usually means God is prepared to act.
And we can believe both that He will act and that He has already acted.
9. Your heart’s desires
If you pray and believe in him, God will give you what you desire.
This Psalm says to harness the abundance and glory of God in order to realize our innermost desires and make our dreams happen.
Psalm 37:4
“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Taking delight in the Lord means that our hearts truly find peace and fulfillment in Him.
If we truly find satisfaction and worth in Christ, Scripture says He will give us the longings of our hearts.
This bible verse is perfect for single people as it means that when we truly rejoice or “delight” in the eternal things of God, our desires will begin to parallel and we will never go unfulfilled.
Many people delight in wealth (love of money), status, material possessions, and other temporary things of this world, but they are never satisfied.
They never truly get what they want, hence the reason they are always wanting more.
This world can never satisfy our deepest longings, but if we choose to delight in God’s way, He will always provide above and beyond our expectations.
10. Love each other
God’s plans for us are more than we can ask for or imagine.
We absolutely want His plan for our lives!
We were created to bring glory to God in everything we do, but each of us has been created with a specific purpose.
God’s ways are not our ways, so to be aligned with His will for our lives requires us to seek a relationship with Him.
John 15:16-17
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.”
Ask in the name of the father and he will give you.
There you have it, an epic list of bible verses for singles who want to get married!
If you ever feel frustrated or impatient, I encourage you to read these scriptures especially those on finding patience.
Hold on tight as I truly believe that God will provide you with the love of your life when he knows you are ready for it.
I also encourage you not to be jealous of others or compare yourself with others.
Let the Lord lead you and pray if needed.
Prayer for singles desiring marriage:
“Father, I place my quest to find my husband in Your hands. I give my future marriage to You because Your word stated that I must ask and it shall be given to me, I must seek, and I will find and when I know it shall be opened to me. Lord, I ask that You guide me to the man You want me to marry. I seek Your guidance for this situation, and I pray that You open the necessary doors for this to happen.
Amen.”
