Meal Plan to Shed Those Extra Pounds
Starting a wedding weight loss plan is a journey that many of us embark upon but give up in a day or two. An ideal weight loss journey is about 70% of the diet that you consume and 30% of exercise.
Avoiding sugary, processed, packaged and saturated fat-rich foods.
Instead consume wholesome homemade meals made with fresh produce like vegetables, fruits, lean chicken meat, eggs and protein-rich foods that will not just complement your exercise, but also lead to detoxification of harmful toxins in your body!
It has also been shown that by replacing the traditional 3 meals per day with 5-8 smaller meals, individuals have shed weight faster.
Listed below is a meal plan for a healthier & fitter you.
Wedding weight loss program
1. Meal 1
The first meal of the day before you jump to have a heavy breakfast should be something that fires up the metabolism after an entire night of rest especially for those embarking on a wedding weight loss journey.
A cup of freshly cut fruits, a humble banana/ apple, half a cup of oatmeal with strawberries or some soaked almonds/raisins along with some detoxifying green tea or warm lemon water should suffice as the ideal first meal of the day.
2. Meal 2
An hour later consume your breakfast, which should be wholesome, filling and fulfilling. A healthy breakfast could constitute 2 boiled eggs, a vegetable sandwich, a cup of cereal with low-fat & toned milk, overnight oats flavoured with cinnamon or other cold fruit, avocado toast etc along with some warm black tea/coffee as your beverage. With the perfect meal plan, your wedding weight loss should be underway in no time.
3. Meal 3
The period between breakfast and lunch often makes a lot of people hungry. For the third meal of the day consume something light and refreshing like lime water, coconut water, a smoothie or a light fruit salad. Avoid snacking on sugar things especially if you want your wedding weight loss experience to succeed.
4. Meal 4
Lunch should be filling but not heavy. Include food from all major food groups in small quantities. Some healthy lunch options could be a Mediterranean salad with prawns, cold chicken salad with whole-wheat pasta, mixed vegetable rice with a light soup or a hearty broth soup loaded with vegetables & some toasted bread.
5. Meal 5
Post-lunch hours can make some people hungry! Snack on some roasted peanuts with jaggery, a slice of cheese or some cool buttermilk to keep your energy levels up!
6. Meal 6
Dinner is usually the last meal of the day that many individuals have. Have a wholesome dinner to keep you satiated till morning & avoid those pesky midnight pangs!
This is crucial for those following a strict wedding weight loss program.
An ideal dinner could be pan-fried chicken breast with steamed vegetables, whole-wheat noodles in a light vegetable soup, a salmon steak with a light lettuce salad or a fresh pesto pasta with a sprinkling of cheese.
7. Meal 7
Before you hit the hay, have a warm glass of turmeric latte with saffron to detoxify your body, prepare you for sleep and keep your calcium levels up.

Great meal ideas, I already start my day with having apple oatmeal usually every day (this is also super nice for fall). I wanted to work together with a personal trainer/nutritionist for my wedding, but it was just incredibly expensive when you also have to think about the costs for the actual wedding, and my husband also said we could do it on our own together. I did some research back then and downloaded a calorie tracking app (Yazio) to ease into the process of losing weight. I think I lost around 14 lb in around 3 months prior to the wedding. And I even continued after because it was also fun for me to see what I could reach next. I would still love to get personal coaching in the future, but for now, this was a great alternative to losing weight on my own.
