4. Newfoundland and Labrador, St John’s

Newfoundland is a treasure buried on the far North Atlantic coast.

Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, Newfoundland’s still pristine coastline, with numerous shorebirds and cliff’s-edge vistas, offers a private escape for your first trip as husband and wife.

If you want the best honeymoon destinations in Canada, put Newfoundland on your list.

It isn’t easy to reshape Canadian cuisine without raising eyebrows.

Still, two restaurants in St John’s have been pulling it off for some time.

The cozy Mallard Cottage is an affordable, locally sourced eatery.

After all, there’s nothing as romantic as a “fishwich” for two!

For true romance, consider a night out at Oliver’s.

The small menu adds contemporary tweaks to classic seafood & pasta dishes while offering you a selection of local beers.

Other romantic places to stay in Newfoundland:

Although bar hopping on George Street can be seen as an attraction, there are other things to do outside St John’s in the Atlantic province.

Besides the mythic Iceberg Alley in the East, Gros Morne National Park is just a few hour’s drive away.

Moreover, if you hesitate, NFL can offer a honeymoon in Canada and a European getaway.

There might be no Eiffel Tower here, but the croissants and French charm remain in neighbouring Saint Pierre and Miquelon.

Despite being sometimes forgotten about, there’s an air of authenticity to coastal life here that is simply enchanting.

A honeymoon in Canada, specifically Newfoundland, is perfect for tranquillity-seeking nature lovers.

Cozy up in a chalet (or a fancy hotel!) and enjoy this vacation of a lifetime.

There are many beautiful honeymoon destinations in Canada, and Lake Louise is one of them.

With a dreamy landscape of snow-capped mountains and a stunningly beautiful lake, who can deny the attraction of Lake Louise for a honeymoon spot?

Located in Banff National Park, the Fairmont brand offers two lavish hotels, the Banff Springs and Chateau Lake Louise.

While one resembles a Scottish castle, the latter provides a fantastic locale on a premium lake.

The Chateau might set you back over CAD 1000 per night, but you’ll have the benefits of walking along the lake, hiking and enjoying fine dining without getting in your car.

The hotel dates back over 100 years, but its interior is stunning.

Many rooms have lake views, and you might want to request one.

The sunrise at Lake Louise is a bucket list event not to be missed.

You can easily access the spectacular show from your hotel by staying at the lake instead of downtown Banff.

As the sun rises, the golden glow lights up Victoria Glacier.

It’s an experience like none other.

If you are honeymooning in summer, you can enjoy a sunrise canoe rental at a discounted rate when staying at the Chateau.

For relaxation, why not splurge for a couples massage at the Fairmont Spa?

You’re on your honeymoon, after all.

A year-round destination, newlyweds can stay at the Chateau in winter.

While you won’t see the turquoise hues of the lake, you can have a romantic moment on a sleigh ride, go dog sledding, and ice skating on the frozen lake.

But you will need to bundle up as temperatures can hit –30C.

It’s more opportunities to cuddle for warmth.

Lake Louise is relatively tiny and lacks the premium dining that Banff offers.

However, the hotel has some lovely dining options.

The Walliser Stube offers European dishes from Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria.

Alternatively, the Fairview Restaurant has a luxurious setting overlooking the famous lake.

So if you are looking for romantic honeymoon destinations in Canada, go to Lake Louise

With so many unique honeymoon destinations in Canada, it can get hard to pick one.

If you are an outdoorsy couple looking to get out in nature for spectacular views on your honeymoon, look no further than the famous Algonquin Provincial Park.

Commonly known as Algonquin among Ontarians, the park consists of over 7,000 kms (4300 miles) of untouched wilderness and 1500 small islands on lakes within the park.

Located just 2.5 hours north of Toronto, Algonquin is close enough to a major city to be easily accessible, but far enough away that it’s still secluded, with an abundance of natural beauty of the classic Ontarian landscape.

For those looking to sleep under the stars, there are campsites and cabins for rent at specific locations inside Algonquin Provincial Park that you can book through the park website.

Another option is to stay in the nearby town of Huntsville, just a 30 min drive from the entrance to the park.

Some of the longer hikes allow you to view some of the highest hills in the park, giving you beautiful views of the surrounding forests from above.

Another popular hike is Track and Tower, from which the summit (a 7.5 km or 4.6-mile loop) gives you a view of the cliffs, and islands in Cache Lake.

For a romantic honeymoon, consider taking a private canoe ride offered through Algonquin Outfitters on Lake Opeongo.

You and your new spouse will be surrounded by the peaceful calm of the vast lake, with no one else in sight.

12. Sunshine Coast, BC

The Sunshine Coast in British Columbia is a dreamy honeymoon destination if you and your partner love fresh air, the outdoors, and seafood.

The trip begins with a stunning 40-minute ferry ride from Vancouver, departing from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver and arriving at Langdale in the built-up town of Gibsons.

If you plan to avoid driving, book accommodation in Gibsons and use the local public transport.

The best option is to have access to a car, though, so you have more flexibility to visit lesser-known places, especially the beautiful lakes.

In Gibsons, dine at Molly’s Reach, which is famous for being a filming location in the 1970s TV show, The Beachcombers, or enjoy oysters at Smitty Oyster House at Gibson’s Marina.

Try local craft beer and cider at Persephone Brewery.

Then walk it off at Soames Hill/Knob Hill for incredible views over Keats Island and Vancouver Island.

Sechelt is next on the list after a stop in Roberts Creek for a walk down the beach.

You can rent kayaks and SUP at Sechelt Inlet and watch the seaplanes land with a Clamato in hand at The Lighthouse Pub.

Stretch your legs at Smugglers Cove or sunbathe at Halfmoon Bay, which is close to the town.

Sechelt is another bigger town, perfect as a base.

Head to Madeira Park to do a boat tour of Pender Harbor or perfect your swing during a game of golf.

Then it’s time to hop between Garden Bay Lake and Katherine Lake, bring a book, and relax.

For a different take on nature, stop at Skookumchuck Narrows, which puts on a daily show of rapids, and if you’re lucky, you might see a crazy kayaker catching a ride.

It takes 50 minutes to walk through a shaded wooded area to the rapids.

Finally, if you and your partner are really into hiking, consider the 180km of the Sunshine Coast!

Sunshine Coast is one of the most recommended honeymoon destinations in Canada.

Sunshine Coast, BC, is a beautiful destination for honeymoon because of its stunning scenery, tranquil atmosphere, and romantic activities such as kayaking, hiking, and beach walks. With its breathtaking views of the mighty falls, picturesque gardens and romantic sunsets over the horizon, Niagara Falls is one of the most popular destinations for newlyweds.

A few romantic things to do together in Niagara Falls for your honeymoon are dining at one of the fantastic restaurants overlooking the falls, taking a thrilling boat cruise into the Horseshoe Falls, enjoying a relaxing spa day, or spending some quality time watching the dramatic falls illuminations at night.

If you are a more adventurous couple, zipline together before the falls or visit Journey Behind the Falls.

And don’t forget about the most romantic places to eat!

Sample a variety of local wines with your meal at Weinkeller, enjoy a lovely meal in a stone boutique hotel at Flour Mill Restaurant, or dine with a view of the falls at Table Rock House.

After dinner, when you are looking for nightlife, head to the Casino, have drinks at Spicy Olive Bar and Grille, or visit Yuk Yuks for one of their comedy shows.

Regarding romance, nowhere in Canada does it quite like Whistler.

Its stunning peaks, skiing opportunities, and quaint cafes and restaurants make it the perfect place to escape BC’s hustle and bustle.

Any honeymoon in Whistler should include a Peak 2 Peak Gondola trip

The 1430-foot gondola runs between Whistler and the beautiful Blackcomb Mountains and lasts around 11 minutes end-to-end.

You can still plan for a kiss or two while appreciating the glorious views!

If you want to take a break from all the excitement in Whistler Village, you can stroll along the Vallea Lumina.

It’s an incredible night walk lit with holograms, lasers, and luscious plant life.

When you’re hit with the evening munchies, why not head to the Red Door Bistro or the Bearfoot Bistro

Both are beautiful places to settle in with a glass of wine.

The latter is lovely as it’s a fine-dining spot with delicious local eats, a top-notch wine list, and bougie décor.

You may want to splurge on a couples’ skiing getaway if you’re visiting during winter.

As Whistler is known for its winter activities, it’d be rude not to, right?

Cascade Lodge is probably your best option for a high-end stay, but Crystal Lodge and The Westin are equally beautiful.

And honestly, who wouldn’t want to indulge in a touch of the après lifestyle after hitting the slopes as newlyweds?

Finish your adventure with a trip to the Scandinave Spa or The Spa at the Four Seasons Resort

These top-notch hotels feature extensive spa menus that’ll make you feel supple, relaxed, and loved.
