Newlyweds can take the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen from Nagasaki Station in Nagasaki to Ureshino-Onsen Station in Saga Prefecture in as little as 25 minutes.

After that, it is only a quick 5-minute walk to the onsen.

This unique onsen is located in the town of Ureshino.

This ryokan (a traditional Japanese hotel) is famous for its Arita-yaki porcelain bathtubs shaped like giant teacups.

The bathtubs are made in Arita, a nearby city renowned for its Arita-yaki porcelain.

You can select from five private open-air tubs, each with a unique design reflecting seasonal flowers.

These rooms are called Chrysanthemum (One wooden tub and one teacup tub), Tea Flower (in-ground tea cup and small onsen pool), Wisteria (two tea cups in a room), Orchid (in-ground tea cup and medium-sized onsen pool), and Cherry Blossom (in-ground tea cup and large onsen pool).

We didn’t make any reservations but just walked up to the desk.

We only had to wait 15 minutes for the staff to set up the room.

We chose the “wisteria” room so that we each had our tea cup to enjoy.

For 50 minutes, you can relax in the refreshing waters and use their bath towels.

It was a great experience, and we fit comfortably in our teacup onsens.

17. Arenal Costa Rica

Are you in desperate need of romantic honeymoon destinations to visit now that you are officially newlyweds? 

We suggest checking out Arenal Costa Rica!

While Costa Rica, in general, is an excellent destination for a honeymoon, Arenal stands out as the top honeymoon destination in Costa Rica.

While the closest town is La Fortuna, Arenal refers to the area around the famous Arenal Volcano and the man-made Lake Arenal.

Everything about the area is romantic.

It’s lush and green year-round, and spotting monkeys, sloths, or toucans is not hard.

If you’re lucky, you may even see a macaw. 

Though clouds often cover the volcano, on a clear day, it looms over the area, and depending on where you stay, it’s not uncommon to have a volcano view from your bed, pool, or hot tub – especially if staying in one of the luxury resorts in the area. 

The resorts themselves are a bit of a destination, ranging from the ultra-luxurious {The Springs resort featured on the bachelor} to the more attainable but still super luxurious Tabacon Resorts and Nayara Gardens or the more affordable Kioro Suites.

Here are a few more of my favourite hot spring resort packages.

What each of the resorts has in common is a spa-like atmosphere and on-property hot springs that make you feel like you’re transported to another world.

It was relaxing, romantic, and worth every penny. 

For those seeking adventure, the La Fortuna Waterfalls are a site not to be missed, and Rio Celeste, with its bright blue water, is worth the hike.

There’s also ziplining, hiking in the Arenal Volcano National Park, and the Mistico Hanging Bridges. 

Foodies should not miss arguably the best restaurant in Costa Rica – Gingerbread.

Located 30-40 minutes from La Fortuna and 20 minutes from most of the resorts, Gingerbread offers one of the best unique dining experiences in Costa Rica, with a small menu that changes frequently and a chef who will leave you with a story to tell.

While everything on the menu is fantastic, don’t miss the tuna poke if available.

You won’t find fresher, more flavorful tuna in the country!

And if you are after romantic yet authentic Fijian cultural experiences, head to River Tubing Fiji.

You will experience visiting a traditional Fijian village in the highlands, only accessible by boat, swimming in a beautiful waterfall, and tubing down the river through the rapids!

And for a romantic cultural evening you’ll never forget – head to the Legends Of The Pacific Fire Show.

Known as the best fire show in Fiji, you will see traditional Fijian dancing; the most popular are knife and incredible fire dancing.

For an adventurous couple, Iceland is the perfect place for an action-packed honeymoon.

With active volcanoes, glacier lagoons, and so many hot springs, you could spend weeks exploring the incredible landscape and not run out of adventures. 

For example, you could rent a car and travel along the island’s famed Ring Road.

If you don’t have time to drive around the island’s entire perimeter, most of Iceland’s famous attractions are along its southern coastline. 

One of the best things to do in Iceland is to relax in one of its stunning hot springs, so be sure to include a bathing suit or two on your Iceland packing list so that you and your new spouse can unwind in the naturally steamy water.

Depending on how long you have before leaving the country, the town of Vik, along the southern coastline, is an excellent stopping point for a night or resting before heading back to Reykjavik.

Here, you can explore Reynisfjara, a dramatic black sand beach home to puffins in the summertime or check out the small but charming town.

If you are looking for a truly romantic getaway, spending your honeymoon in an Irish castle is nothing like spending your honeymoon.

We have already established that Ireland is one of the most romantic honeymoon destinations in the world!

There are many castle hotels across Ireland; you can find one in any budget range. 

Staying in an Irish castle feels like living in a fairytale, and many of them come complete with spas, luxury amenities, and stunning grounds.

Whether looking for a historical experience or modern luxury, an Irish castle honeymoon will create lasting memories.

There are fantastic Irish castle hotels across the country, so if you have a specific destination you want to explore, there’s bound to be one nearby.

However, I stayed in and had a lovely experience with Kilronan Castle, located in County Roscommon in the northern part of the Republic of Ireland.

This luxurious 4-star castle hotel is situated on the edge of a beautiful lake and within the Knockranny Woods.

It has an award-winning kitchen, chef, and a fantastic spa. 

While one of the perks of your honeymoon is that the castle is a bit secluded, giving you plenty of opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and relax, there is a nearby town if you want to get out and explore.

The historic site of King House Boyle (a Georgian Mansion and Museum) and the Arigna Mining Experience are popular local attractions.

A few other things you can do while staying at Kilronan would be to take a romantic stroll through the woods, rent an electric bike, or go on an adventure on the nearby lake.

Lough Meelagh offers water activities such as sailing, fishing, windsurfing, or canoeing.

The castle is also within an hour’s drive of some of the best golf courses in the country.
