1. Santorini, Greece

One of the most romantic places to spend your honeymoon is in Santorini.

The small but picturesque island in the Aegean Sea, off the coast of Greece, is famous for its cliffside towns with white houses and beautiful sunsets.

Santorini is especially popular amongst lovebirds and honeymooners because of the many beautiful cliff hotels with suites overlooking the remains of a volcano in the middle of the ocean.

Many suites have private pools or hot tubs that let you enjoy the beautiful view of the sun setting behind the volcano in peace.

Check out the Cavo Tagoo Santorini, the Cocoon Suites or the Maregio Suites

Santorini does not lack romantic activities to choose from to fill your day.

One of the most popular excursions is a catamaran cruise around the island.

You will enjoy a stop at the volcanic beaches, take a bath in the thermal springs, and have a meal on the boat overlooking the sunset behind the famous white house town of Oia.

Another great and romantic way to get to know the island is by participating in a wine tasting.

Because of the volcanic grounds, wine is one of Santorini’s most extensive export products and is very special in its taste.

Many tour providers offer wine-tasting tours around 3-5 vineyards in small groups or for just the two of you.

Make sure to try the Assyrtiko, the most famous wine of Santorini.

The most charming winery you have to visit is Santo Wines, and their terrace has a beautiful view of the ocean and the sunset.

If you are an adventurous couple, rent an ATV and explore the island off the beaten tracks.

Apart from the famous village of Oia, there are many more beautiful small villages with white houses worth exploring.

Check out the mountain town of Pyrgos, the village of Megalochori, and the capital city of Thira.

3. Dubrovnik, Croatia

The Mediterranean has long been a popular honeymoon destination for newlyweds around the globe.

Breathtaking beaches, dreamy seaside towns, and flavorful cuisine are what draw visitors to Europe’s most spectacular coastline.

One of the most popular honeymoon locations is the southern tip of Croatia – Dubrovnik.

Often referred to as the Pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik is the perfect place to relax with your spouse after a whirlwind wedding.

The city itself is the epitome of romance.

White stone walls surround the medieval Old Town, renowned for its sea of terracotta rooftops and sweeping views of islands in the distance.

Inside the fortified city is a labyrinth of cobblestone alleyways, charming squares, and secret passages leading to hidden cliffside bars.

Whether you want to spend your days soaking up the sun on a beautiful beach or prefer a more active vacation, there are plenty of activities for couples to enjoy in Dubrovnik.

Take a cable car ride up to Mount Srd and enjoy wine while watching the sun set over the ancient walled city.

Or, escape to Pasjaca Beach for the day, one of the unique beaches in Croatia and the ideal spot for relaxing away from the crowds.

Are you craving something a bit more adventurous?

Rent a kayak and head out to explore Dubrovnik from the water!

If that’s not enough, get off the beaten path and take a private boat to the nearby Elaphiti Islands for a taste of local island living.

In addition to countless activities, Dubrovnik offers world-class cuisine and award-winning wines.

Many Michelin Guide restaurants can be found throughout the city, so grab a seat on one of their terraces overlooking the town and enjoy the best Croatian dining.

You are on your honeymoon, after all!

4. A Hawaiin Cruise

The Hawaiian archipelago offers a romantic destination for a honeymoon, filled with dreamy landscapes, tropical breezes, and a relaxed vibe.

While travellers often have difficulty choosing an island, a Hawaiian cruise lets you see multiple islands in one trip.

Without the need for island hopping, you can savour the stunning waterfalls in Hilo, enjoy snorkelling in Kona, watch an iconic sunrise at Maui’s Haleakala National Park, and only unpack once.

Whoever you cruise with, be sure to book a balcony stateroom.

It’s the ideal spot to enjoy morning coffee and a private sunset at the end of the day.

On a cruise ship, your meals are included, and you can choose an intimate table for two. Alternatively, order dinner on your balcony with champagne and roses.

To add romance to your honeymoon getaway, consider a couples massage on a sea day with a glass of bubbly.

If you decide to sail on a mega-ship, your onboard experiences are plentiful.

You can enjoy a friendly game of mini-golf or tackle rock climbing on the ship’s upper deck.

In Honolulu, you’ll want to order a lei greeting.

Receiving a floral lei is a Hawaiian tradition usually given on special occasions.

As newlyweds, the welcome greeting will kick start your romantic time in paradise.

The islands offer many adventures for a honeymoon; your budget is the only limitation.

Since the islands are very different, you can enjoy contrasting experiences on each one.

In Kauai, a doors-off helicopter excursion lets you savour the picturesque Jurassic landscape on a private tour.

Maui has many stunning beaches adopted by numerous Hollywood movie stars.

So, grab some picnic food or shave ice and find a secluded beach to relax. Snorkel Bob’s provides inexpensive rentals by the hour or day if you love to snorkel.

Lahaina on Maui and Honolulu on Oahu offer romantic sunset catamaran cruises.

It’s a chance to see the landscape as the sun goes down.

Alternatively, an authentic Polynesian luau allows you to learn Hawaiian history and what nations contributed to its culture.

All the Hawaiian Islands have restaurants with oceanfront patios, so romantic dinners are always available.

Try the Huli Chicken, slow-cooked Kalua Pork, and garlic shrimp.

And leave room for Dole Whip.

Be warned; the heavenly treat is addictive.

7. Lugano, Switzerland

If you are looking for romantic honeymoon places in Switzerland, you might want to visit the city of Lugano!

The beautiful Swiss city of Lugano is located in the canton of Ticino and is romantically situated on the shores of Lake Lugano.

Surrounded by alpine peaks and with its proximity to Italy, Lugano is the ideal place for a honeymoon.

For newlyweds couples looking for something different but romantic, look no further than this beautiful city!

Lugano offers Mediterranean metropolitan flair mixed with idyllic postcard motifs, ideal for loved couples.

The historic city center, with its narrow streets and beautiful houses, invites you to fabulous (window) shopping during the day.

People meet in large squares such as the Piazza Della Riforma in the evening for the traditional aperitivo.

Those pre-dinner drinks are perfect for enjoying the typical dolce vita Lugano offers.

Another romantic meeting place in the evening is the long, arched waterfront promenade.

Here, you will find small bars, nice cafés or even hidden park benches between the large avenue trees for some togetherness while you let your gaze wander over the calm water.

Along Lake Lugano, there are many beautiful beach resorts called Lido, where you can dive into the clear water.

The Lido deck chairs, overlooking the beautiful lake, are perfect for a relaxing afternoon in Lugano in the sun.

If you prefer something more active, you can use the historic city cable cars and visit Lugano’s local mountains.

From Monte San Salvatore to Monte Brè, you can enjoy beautiful views of the city, the lake and the surrounding Alpine peaks.

By the way, from both mountains, you can watch magnificent sunsets over Lugano.

This alone makes it one of the best honeymoon destinations in Switzerland.

A boat trip on the blue, glittering Lake Lugano is one of the most romantic things you can do while in Lugano.

You have outstanding views of the city and the famous lakeside promenade from the water.

Picturesque villages and small towns are nestled on the wooded slopes around the lake.

Couples in love should visit the charming lakeside villages of Grandia and Morcote and stroll through the lovely alleys.

There are many more reasons to decide on Lugano as the perfect honeymoon destination; Mediterranean city flair and natural jewels are just a few.

Surrounded by alpine peaks and with its proximity to Italy, Lugano is the ideal place for a honeymoon. You have come to the right place if you are looking for the most romantic honeymoon destinations in the world.

8. The Dolomites, Italy

If you want romantic honeymoon destinations, check out the Dolomites in Italy!

The Dolomites might be the right honeymoon destination for active couples looking for the perfect balance between amazing landscapes, sports activities, and romantic hotels.

The Dolomites are a mountain chain in northern Italy extending through three Italian regions: Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The best thing to do in the Dolomites is to enjoy nature and the landscape.

You can do that by joining one of the many sports activities available in the region, such as mountain biking, climbing, horseback riding, etc.

Our favourite one and the most accessible option is hiking.

The Dolomites region has incredibly scenic paths like Lake Sorapis Hike or the Seceda Ridge Trail.

Neither of these two hikes is very physically demanding, but you are guaranteed to be rewarded with some of the most beautiful views of the mountains.

To cool off after the exercise, you can go for a relaxing afternoon at a spa center.

There are multiple spa and wellness properties in the Dolomites, most of which are also hotels.

Two of the most exciting and renowned properties are Alpina Dolomites and Hotel Therme Meran, where you can enjoy the pool, wellness center, and sauna.

We strongly recommend renting a car to make this trip more comfortable, as it will allow you to explore the region at your own pace and make as many stops as you want.

The Dolomites are the perfect destination for an active couple’s trip.

You get the best of both worlds by combining sports activities during the day with romantic dinners at night.

If you want to dial the romantic level of your honeymoon even higher, check out Chalet al la Foss.

This unique property is located in the Dolomites, and they are specialists in preparing the most romantic candlelight dinners or breakfast feasts where their beautiful alpacas come to visit.

9. Cancun, Mexico

If you are looking for a romantic honeymoon destination in Mexico, look no further than Cancun.

A honeymoon in Cancun is a dream!

Since you have the proper excuse for splurging during your honeymoon, book one of the most exclusive romantic resorts on the spectacular Cancun beach.

As I live in Cancun, my top recommendations are Le Blanc or the brand-new Turquoize by Ziva Hyatt, or if you don’t like the all-inclusive style, you can opt for the world-class Nizuc Resort and Spa for your entire stay.

They offer stunning views over the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea and top service to pamper you nonstop throughout your stay.

Although you will be tempted to stay in your luxurious hotel room all day, I invite you to go out and explore.

Book a private sunset cruise or catamaran trip to Isla Mujeres, or try some romantic restaurants over the Nichupte’ Lagoon.

Check out the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and dip in one of the fascinating cenotes near Cancun.

Venture out to Tulum and stop by the spectacular beaches of Xpu-ha or Akumal, where you can swim with wild turtles and stop by Playa del Carmen on your way back to walk along the popular Quinta Avenida.

The top two favourites are Elefanta and Thai restaurants on the lagoon in Plaza la Isla!

You will dine on overwater platforms in a romantic and intimate atmosphere.

Although there is no best time to travel to Cancun, I recommend choosing February for the best weather or right after Easter for better deals and fewer crowds when you are not in the middle of the wet season yet.

If you are wondering about the best way to move around in Cancun, my favourite is renting a car, which may seem a bit pricey initially, but if you like to explore, it’s much more convenient than using a taxi or buying tours.

Not only is Cancun famous, but it is the most romantic honeymoon destination!

10. Antigua and Barbuda

There are so many romantic honeymoon destinations to choose from.

But I must say that Antigua and Barbuda are among the most romantic Caribbean islands.

The cute tiny island is home to some of the most stunning resorts, with spectacular views over the turquoise Caribbean sea for a dreamy romantic vacation.

Antigua’s landscape is one of a kind, with rolling green hills along the blue Caribbean sea and white sand beaches.

There is something romantic about everything you see in Antigua, from the historical buildings in the English Harbor to ancient forts overlooking hidden bays, even the busy capital city St. John with its cute colourful shops of Heritage Quay.

I would recommend renting a car and driving around the island, through its winding roads and across the tropical forest, discovering all the spectacular secluded beaches and lookout spots, finding local restaurants, and trying the creole delicacy in beachfront shacks.

Antigua is big on sailing, so book a private sailing tour for a romantic sunset cruise around the island.

Take a trip to the deserted beaches of the sister island of Barbuda, but most of all, make sure you choose your hotel wisely for the ultimate romantic experience.

Since I have seen almost all the hotels on the island, my top recommendation among the most exclusive hotels in Antigua are Hermitage Bay, The Inn at English Harbour, and the entire Jumby Bay, where you may even bump into some Hollywood stars.

All these hotels have incredible on-site world-class restaurants, but it’s widespread in Antigua to try other ones in other hotels.

The Italian restaurant in The Inn at English Harbour is world-class, and the Thai restaurant at Carlisle Bay is also a great choice, among others.

If you don’t have a car to move around the island, you can find taxis in any hotel or use your hotel concierge, who has trusted drivers.

My best tip is to tell the driver your plan and ask the cost before boarding so you make sure what you expect to pay.

Taxis are expensive in Antigua, so I have recommended renting a car if you plan to explore a lot.

Whatever you decide to do, Antigua is the ultimate romantic place for the perfect honeymoon.

Antigua and Barbuda! But I must say that Antigua and Barbuda is one of the most romantic Caribbean islands. Planning a honeymoon? If you are looking for romantic Honeymoon locations, check out Antigua and Barbuda!

11. Nice, France

You will find the most romantic honeymoon destinations in the world in Europe!

Nice in France is one honeymoon destination you should not consider passing up.

What can be more romantic than honeymooning in Nice on the French Riviera?

From the sparkling blue waters to the historic old town of Vieux Nice (Old Nice) to the nearby Medieval villages, Nice is the perfect spot for newlyweds.

For a special treat, stay at the iconic Negresco Hotel.

This luxurious hotel is a landmark of Nice, and if you can swing a room with a view of the beaches, it’s worth it.

Start your days by watching the sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea.

They are truly spectacular and rival the best sunsets you’ve ever seen.

If you can’t see it from your room, head down to the Promenade des Anglais and sit on one of the benches with a coffee.

Take a stroll along the seaside Promenade to the Cours Saleya Market.

Fresh flowers, produce, and local products abound at this open-air farmer’s market.

Buy some flowers for your room to kick it up a notch.

Stop at the food stalls and learn about the local specialty dishes of cuisine Nissarde like pissaladière (a Nice flatbread), tourte de blettes (Swiss chard tart), and the must-try socca (chickpea pancake).

Most of the best restaurants in Nice are within walking distance from the market.

Couples enjoy the intimate atmosphere of Le Bar des Oiseaux and Le Bistrot d’Antoine.

But to eat on the beach at Le Galet may be the most romantic place to dine in Nice.

Meandering through the narrow alleys of Old Town Nice, you’ll find many picturesque pastel buildings, beautiful squares with fountains and gardens, and a castle with incredible vistas up at the top of the hill.

This city exudes romance!

And if you somehow exhaust Nice, there are so many worthwhile places just a short drive away.

The Medieval fortress towns of Eze and Saint Paul de Vence and the seaside villages of Antibes, Villefranche-sur-Mer and Menton all make lovely day trips

12. Tahiti, French Polynesia

If you’re looking for the perfect honeymoon destination, look no further than beautiful French Polynesia in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean.

Specifically, consider celebrating the beginning of your new chapter on French Polynesia’s largest island, Tahiti.

You will find that Tahiti has incredible activities to partake in and offers couples the perfect blend of romance, relaxation, and adventure.

For example, if you and your partner want to relax in complete and utter bliss, consider spending the day at one of Tahiti’s numerous black-sand beaches.

You can enjoy the lovely tropical weather and the beauty of the brilliant blue waters!

Seriously, they are some of the bluest waters you will ever see.

And if you’re up for some adventure, you and your partner should try surfing.

Tahiti has fantastic surf opportunities for surfers of all levels along the island’s west side.

Plus, there’s no better way to strengthen a bond than by laughing at each other and wiping out in the water, right!?

Alternatively, consider hiking if you and your partner want to venture through Tahiti’s lush interior.

Several trails around the island and across the mountains offer unbelievable panoramic views!

Last but certainly not least, Tahiti is ideal for any seafood lover.

With industrial goods constantly having to be imported to the island, locals try to live off the land in terms of food.

Thus, Tahiti offers visitors a delicious array of seafood dishes, one of the most popular ones being Poisson Cru!

So, be sure to try the local favourite if you visit!

All in all, Tahiti is one of the best places for couples to celebrate their new marriage!

13. Hawaiian Island of Maui

One of the most romantic places to celebrate a honeymoon in the United States is the Hawaiian Island of Maui.

This has been a popular U.S. honeymoon destination for decades, and it still is because it’s hard to beat this tropical paradise.

The top resort areas for couples are Wailea in South Maui and Ka’anapali in West Maui.

Kihei is a top pick for those planning budget-friendly honeymoons.

The most popular things to do on Maui include driving the Road to Hana (which is all about the journey, not the destination), snorkelling at Molokini Crater, and seeing the sunrise from Haleakala Crater.

Many people also love going on hikes and checking out gorgeous waterfalls.

A ferry that will take people to the island of Lana’i, where they can go snorkelling or visit a cat sanctuary.

A few romantic honeymoon activities in Maui include a sunset dinner cruise, getting couples’ massages on the beach, tasting wine in Upcountry Maui, and enjoying cocktails at a tiki bar.

For those planning a winter honeymoon, the best time to see humpback whales in Maui is November through March.

This is a pretty epic experience to enjoy with someone special.

If you’d like to do a luau on Maui, the Feast at Mokapu is the most romantic option.

It’s a plated dinner, and you can watch an incredible sunset during the show.

For people wanting another memorable dining experience, book a table at the famous Mama’s Fish House in Paia.

Reservations are booked several months in advance, but the experience is worth it.

But you don’t only have to have fancy dining experiences.

You can grab a Hawaiian plate lunch or some poke to go and enjoy it at the beach for an affordable meal with a stellar view.

Whatever you decide, Maui is an incredible honeymoon spot for those looking for romantic places!

14. Island of Kyushu, Japan

Consider going to Japan for your honeymoon.

For a private and intimate honeymoon, skip Tokyo and travel to Saga Prefecture in Japan.

Known as the “Land of Fire,” Kyushu is Japan’s third-largest island and is famous for its hot springs, active volcanoes, lush greenery, temples, and delicious foods.

Unwind and relax together at the Yuzen no Yado Toukai Onsen.

Newlyweds can take the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen from Nagasaki Station in Nagasaki to Ureshino-Onsen Station in Saga Prefecture in as little as 25 minutes.

After that, it is only a quick 5-minute walk to the onsen.

This unique onsen is located in the town of Ureshino.

This ryokan (a traditional Japanese hotel) is famous for its Arita-yaki porcelain bathtubs shaped like giant teacups.

The bathtubs are made in Arita, a nearby city renowned for its Arita-yaki porcelain.

You can select from five private open-air tubs, each with a unique design reflecting seasonal flowers.

These rooms are called Chrysanthemum (One wooden tub and one teacup tub), Tea Flower (in-ground tea cup and small onsen pool), Wisteria (two tea cups in a room), Orchid (in-ground tea cup and medium-sized onsen pool), and Cherry Blossom (in-ground tea cup and large onsen pool).

We didn’t make any reservations but just walked up to the desk.

We only had to wait 15 minutes for the staff to set up the room.

We chose the “wisteria” room so that we each had our tea cup to enjoy.

For 50 minutes, you can relax in the refreshing waters and use their bath towels.

It was a great experience, and we fit comfortably in our teacup onsens.

Please see Yuzen no Yado Toukai’s website for exact room prices.

Payment preferences include yen and other major credit cards.

15. St John, US Virgin Islands

For recently married couples looking for the most romantic honeymoon destinations in the world, they should consider checking out St. John

St John in the US Virgin Islands is a secluded and beautiful place for a romantic honeymoon.

The national park protects two-thirds of the island from significant development, leaving its natural beauty unspoiled.

St John’s beaches are some of the best in the Caribbean, with untouched coral reefs, making it a perfect place for snorkelling and diving.

Many hiking trails offer panoramic views, leading to the island’s stunning beaches with white sand and crystal-clear waters.

Not only is it the perfect spot for the adventurous couple, but the seclusion also makes it the perfect place for couples who want to explore and enjoy a romantic getaway.

There are two main places to stay in St John: Cruz Bay and Coral Bay.

Cruz Bay is a small but lively downtown with romantic restaurants and open-air beach bars.

It’s also home to the Cruz Bay Ferry Dock, where you can catch a short ride to one of St John’s sister islands, St Thomas.

Or, if you’re looking for an international adventure, you can hop on the ferry to the British Virgin Islands.

You’ll find private villas off the beaten path for your honeymoon and smaller local restaurants and bars in Coral Bay.

You might even run into some of the island’s friendly donkeys hanging out on the side of the road in Coral Bay.

For hiking lovers, head to the Reef Bay Trail and search for the historic Petroglyphs of Reef Bay and St John’s Sugar Mill Ruins.

For water lovers, snorkel at the famous white-sand Trunk Bay Beach or Watermelon Cay.

And for foodie couples, cross off a bucket list item by having lunch at Lime Out, a Taco Bar floating in the Caribbean.

You will have a romantic honeymoon in St. John regardless of anything.

St Johns in the US virgin islands has a lot of amazing places to stay. Here you will find luxurious resorts, stunning hotels and beautiful villas to enjoy your honeymoon. While the Virgin Islands can be pricey, there are plenty of things to do for cheap and it is the perfect honeymoon destination in the world.

16.  Baja California, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas is a resort city in the Baja California Peninsula and one of Mexico’s most popular honeymoon destinations.

Those looking for romantic Honeymoon destinations should add this to their travel bucket list.

Many couples come to Cabo to tie the knot, but even more end up staying after seeing the spectacular scenery of Baja.

Honeymooners love Cabo’s amazing golden beaches, over 300 days of sunshine and great activities for couples like snorkelling, kayaking, zip-lining and wildlife watching.

And with so many unique tours and excursions you can take part in while on your honeymoon, it is always great to get tickets in advance.

Sunset watching is one of the most romantic things for couples in Cabo San Lucas.

Couples can have the best experience by booking one of the sunset-watching tours to enjoy the spectacular colours while having a delicious dinner made with local ingredients.

Cabo San Lucas is also home to Lands End, whose famous arch can easily be recognized.

This area divides the Sea of Cortez from the Pacific Ocean on both sides of the Baja California Peninsula.

Besides traditional things like enjoying time at the resorts, golfing, and basking in the sun, Baja California is an outdoor paradise with fantastic opportunities for recreation like diving, hiking, and mountain biking.

The adventurous couples will have a blast here, as you can start your day by surfing and finish it on an epic hike where you will be treated to a spectacular sunset.

Another popular activity in Cabo San Lucas is whale watching

For example, humpback whales can be spotted off the coast of Cabo San Lucas.

Humpback whales come to Baja California Sur between December and April.

They can often be spotted in the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez.

January and February are the best times for spotting humpback whales in the region, and the best way to do it is with a guided tour from Cabo San Lucas.

Finally, the city is home to many great restaurants with seafood as a local specialty.

You can find many unpretentious restaurants around downtown Cabo San Lucas or further away, where you can enjoy a variety of Mexican and international dishes.

If you honeymoon here, there are many beautiful things to do in Cabo San Lucas

17. Arenal Costa Rica

Are you in desperate need of romantic honeymoon destinations to visit now that you are officially newlyweds?

We suggest checking out Arenal Costa Rica!

While Costa Rica, in general, is an excellent destination for a honeymoon, Arenal stands out as the top honeymoon destination in Costa Rica.

While the closest town is La Fortuna, Arenal refers to the area around the famous Arenal Volcano and the man-made Lake Arenal.

Everything about the area is romantic.

It’s lush and green year-round, and spotting monkeys, sloths, or toucans is not hard.

If you’re lucky, you may even see a macaw.

Though clouds often cover the volcano, on a clear day, it looms over the area, and depending on where you stay, it’s not uncommon to have a volcano view from your bed, pool, or hot tub – especially if staying in one of the luxury resorts in the area.

The resorts themselves are a bit of a destination, ranging from the ultra-luxurious {The Springs resort featured on the bachelor} to the more attainable but still super luxurious Tabacon Resorts and Nayara Gardens or the more affordable Kioro Suites.

Here are a few more of my favourite hot spring resort packages.

What each of the resorts has in common is a spa-like atmosphere and on-property hot springs that make you feel like you’re transported to another world.

It was relaxing, romantic, and worth every penny.

For those seeking adventure, the La Fortuna Waterfalls are a site not to be missed, and Rio Celeste, with its bright blue water, is worth the hike.

There’s also ziplining, hiking in the Arenal Volcano National Park, and the Mistico Hanging Bridges.

Foodies should not miss arguably the best restaurant in Costa Rica – Gingerbread.

Located 30-40 minutes from La Fortuna and 20 minutes from most of the resorts, Gingerbread offers one of the best unique dining experiences in Costa Rica, with a small menu that changes frequently and a chef who will leave you with a story to tell.

While everything on the menu is fantastic, don’t miss the tuna poke if available.

You won’t find fresher, more flavorful tuna in the country!

18. Fiji, South Pacific

One of the most romantic honeymoon destinations in the world is Fiji.

Fiji is the ultimate honeymoon destination, and with over 330 beautiful white sandy islands, you’ll be spoilt with choices for romantic places to visit!

If you are after a unique romantic day trip, check out Seventh Heaven – a floating pizzeria in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean!

Complete with a bar, water activities, a jumping platform and a massage area, Seventh Heaven is an enjoyable yet romantic place in Fiji!

Or if you fancy a day on a sailboat, sailing off in pure luxury to a stunning secluded sand bar paradise with free-flowing drinks, South Sea Sailing is for you!

Just jump off the boat or go down the slide straight into the sea (yes, there’s a slide on the boat!) and swim across to the sand bar, where you’ll find beach chairs and sun umbrellas waiting for you.

Magic right?!

If that’s not enough, you’ll want to check out Malamala – the world’s first island beach club!

That’s right – the whole island is a beach club!

At Malamala, you can sip cocktails from coconuts in the infinity pool, kayak around the whole island in 7 minutes, jump off the pier and snorkel amongst the fantastic reef!

With romantic honeymoon destinations like Fiji, it’s hard not to want to stay there forever.

There is just so much to see and do.

If you can’t get enough of these island day trips, a more laid-back but equally romantic alternative is Tivua Island – where baby reef sharks grace the shallows, drinks are flowing all day, and you can get the chance to plant some coral reef with the Maine Biologist!

And if you are after romantic yet authentic Fijian cultural experiences, head to River Tubing Fiji.

You will experience visiting a traditional Fijian village in the highlands, only accessible by boat, swimming in a beautiful waterfall, and tubing down the river through the rapids!

And for a romantic cultural evening you’ll never forget – head to the Legends Of The Pacific Fire Show.

Known as the best fire show in Fiji, you will see traditional Fijian dancing; the most popular are knife and incredible fire dancing.

You will also witness the fire walking demonstration (yes – they walk on the fire stones – ouch!).

This cannot be missed in Fiji; you will also experience the famous Lovo here.

Lovo is a traditional Fijian way of cooking that involves wrapping meat, fish and vegetables in banana and coconut leaves and cooking them underground.

This gives the food an extra delicious, unique smoky flavour!

I hope we have convinced you to put Fiji at the top of your list of romantic honeymoon destinations.

I suggest checking out the Beqa Lagoon Resort, Fiji Hideaway Resort and Spa or Tokiriki Island Resort {adult only} for accommodations.

Fiji has some of the best resorts for honeymoon in the world. If you are lookin for amazing honeymoon destinations, then you need to check out Fiji. I love taking romantic trips with my partner. And if you are recently married, you will enjoy a honeymoon in Fiji as it has so much to offer.

19. Iceland

For an adventurous couple, Iceland is the perfect place for an action-packed honeymoon.

With active volcanoes, glacier lagoons, and so many hot springs, you could spend weeks exploring the incredible landscape and not run out of adventures.

For example, you could rent a car and travel along the island’s famed Ring Road.

If you don’t have time to drive around the island’s entire perimeter, most of Iceland’s famous attractions are along its southern coastline.

One of the best things to do in Iceland is to relax in one of its stunning hot springs, so be sure to include a bathing suit or two on your Iceland packing list so that you and your new spouse can unwind in the naturally steamy water.

Start your honeymoon in the capital city of Reykjavik’s Sky Lagoon, one of the newest hot springs in the country, complete with an infinity thermal pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

As you start making your way along the southern coastline, plan a lunch date at Friðheimar, a charming restaurant in a working greenhouse serving unique dishes that highlight tomatoes.

You can create lasting memories here- for example, cheering to your new marriage with shots of Icelandic Birch schnapps, served out of a hollowed-out tomato!

Continuing southward, you can explore some of Iceland’s most dramatic waterfalls, like Seljalandsfoss, a 200-foot waterfall you can hike behind or Skógafoss, which produces a jaw-dropping rainbow on sunny days.

Depending on how long you have before leaving the country, the town of Vik, along the southern coastline, is an excellent stopping point for a night or resting before heading back to Reykjavik.

Here, you can explore Reynisfjara, a dramatic black sand beach home to puffins in the summertime or check out the small but charming town.

Be sure not to miss Skool Beans, an adorable micro roaster serving delicious coffee from a converted school bus, complete with a resident cat and wood-burning fireplace.

If you are looking for places to stay, I suggest Reykjavik’s Hotel Borg, which is complete with a full-service spa!

Or you can check out this luxury hotel with sprawling views – Tower Suites!

I recommend Reykjavik’s Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel for something a bit more upscale.

20. Nusa Dua, Bali

Set on a pristine white-sand beach in a quiet part of Bali and home to world-class resorts, Nusa Dua is one of the best places to stay in Bali for the honeymoon.

Nusa Dua sits on the eastern side of Bukit Peninsula, a convenient 20-minute drive from the island’s international airport.

It is the most idyllic area on Bali, boasting pristine beaches and turquoise water lapping against the shores.

Unlike other beaches in Bali, where waves are powerful, and you must navigate a rugged cliff high to get to the beach, Nusa Dua Beach is easily accessible and perfect for swimming.

Here, you will find the most luxurious resorts in Bali with world-class facilities and suites that often come with a jacuzzi or a private plunge pool – ideal for a romantic getaway.

Nusa Dua hotels are also known for arranging candle-lit dinners on their picture-perfect private beaches, flower baths and floating breakfasts to make your honeymoon even more memorable.

If you’re an active couple, then you’ll be pleased to know that the eastern part of Bali is packed with fun and romantic things to do.

Adrenaline lovers can enjoy Underwater Sea Walking, a unique way of exploring marine life, or try parasailing and riding a jet ski together.

For well-being enthusiasts, Nusa Dua spas offer fantastic couples packages to unwind and enjoy the moment.

Other exciting things to do close by include watching a traditional Kecak dance at Uluwatu Temple, taking a surfing class, and enjoying a cooking class together.

Nusa Dua is also packed with excellent restaurants in epic settings, such as Cliff at Canna or Soleil, part of the fantastic Mulia Bali resort.

If you have more time, don’t forget to visit Ubud – the cultural capital of Bali and Nusa Penida, renowned for its unworldly scenery and beaches.

Many newlyweds immediately think of visiting a tropical island when planning their honeymoon.

22. Mürren, Switzerland

Mürren is the perfect location for a honeymoon away from the rest of the world.

This alpine village is located at an altitude of 1650 meters in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland.

The hamlet can only be accessed with a cable car or mountain train, making it a perfect sanctuary for travel and mountain-loving newlyweds.

Because it is a car-free village, it is ideal if you are looking for a peaceful corner of this earth, away from everything and everyone.

A hike surrounded by breathtaking beauty and wild, colourful field flowers, this romantic honeymoon destination should be on your bucket list if you visit in spring, summer, or fall.

Adventurous couples can create unforgettable memories together on a paragliding session off the Lauterbrunnen cliffs, or you can take on the via Ferrata, a climbing and tight walk course.

Take the iconic mountain train to explore the area and neighbouring villages, such as Lauterbrunnen, and don’t forget a shopping trip in the upscale town of Wengen.

A small, thoughtful gift from Switzerland for your loved one, such as a cute Heidi cuckoo clock or an original Swiss army knife, will remind you of your fantastic time in Mürren.

Winter has a lot to offer as well!

This is perfect for couples looking for romantic winter honeymoon destinations!

Plan on skiing together in one of the best skiing resorts in the world, or go together on a snowshoe trail discovery tour with a local guide.

A melting hot Swiss cheese fondue a Deux is a must-do after an eventful day, and Hotel Edelweiss offers an unparalleled view with your fondue.

Book a room in a local hotel in Mürren with a beautiful view of the snow-capped Mönch, Jungfrau and Eiger mountains.

You can pick a hotel with Alpenruh or Eiger as either will make you feel more than welcome in Switzerland.

If you want something more exclusive for your honeymoon, a chalet, such as the panoramic alpine view, will hit all the check marks!

23. Sun Valley, Idaho

For couples looking for romantic honeymoon destinations in the US, this is for you.

Sun Valley, Idaho, is a great place to take a honeymoon vacation if you’re an adventurous couple.

Enjoy the USA’s first-ever ski resort destination, and get out onto the slopes for fantastic skiing.

If you or your partner are beginner skiers, start on Dollar Mountain.

Yet, if you and your loved one are avid skiers, then you’ll be excited to know that Bald Mountain is not for the faint of heart, with 3,400 vertical feet.

Skiing at Sun Valley offers much shorter lines at the lifts compared to other popular US ski resorts, giving you both more time to enjoy the slopes.

24. United Kingdom

Out on West Yorkshire’s wily, windy moors, the Brontë sisters created some of the most romantic couples in literature.

Shakespeare penned love stories from his English hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon that lasted centuries.

Jane Austen’s Elizabeth Bennet was as enamoured by the beauty of the Peak District as she was by Mr. Darcy.

In the UK, you will honeymoon in places that inspired the most famous love stories and poetry ever written.

Whether it’s literature, poetry or period dramas, something about these small islands embodies romance.

From the Scottish Highlands’ rugged crags to Cumbria’s silvery lakes and the remote moors of Northumberland, the UK’s cinematic landscapes make an unforgettable backdrop for your post-wedding getaway.

If you are looking for romantic honeymoon destinations, consider the UK

Thousands of miles of soul-stirring coastline beckon, from unspoilt golden sandy beaches to dramatic rock formations and quintessential British seaside resorts.

Behold the soaring limestone cliffs of the Jurassic coast, dip in a turquoise Cornish bay or eat al fresco fish and chips in the old harbour of Whitby, Yorkshire.

The spectacular sweeping countryside teems with picture-perfect historic villages, including Castle Combe in the Cotswolds, Lavenham in Suffolk and Beddgelert in Snowdonia, among many others.

Imagine yourselves strolling hand in hand along winding cobbled streets, staying in a quaint stone cottage and cuddling up by a log fire in a cozy traditional inn.

Majestic castles evoke the magic of bygone eras – try Conwy Castle in Wales, Scotland’s Eilean Donan or England’s Windsor Castle, where Royal couple Harry and Meghan pledged their troth.

You can even step into the pages of a fairytale and stay in one, like Warwickshire Warwick Castle, Dartmoor Bovey Castle or Scotland’s Culzean Castle.

The UK has a wealth of heritage sites to thrill history-loving couples.

Stone circles, Roman ruins, Celtic monuments, medieval fortresses and royal palaces are strewn across these lands.

London and Edinburgh are unmissable cities, boasting photogenic architecture, cultural melting pots and imposing 1000-year-old castles.

Like many ancient UK towns and cities, including York, Bath, and Cambridge, their charm contrasts old and new.

You will find buzzy rooftop bars, trendy microbreweries and chic restaurants nestled amongst fascinating age-old monuments and relics of the past.

Along with cottages and castles, the list of extra-special accommodation options is endless.

Luxuriate in 5-star luxury in London’s iconic Savoy or Scotland’s Gleneagles, sink into an outdoor bath on the private terrace of a secluded treehouse, or snuggle and stargaze beside the firepit of a quirky shepherd’s hut.

25. Irish Castle Hotel (Kilronan Castle)

The most romantic honeymoon destination in the world is full of castles.

If you are looking for a truly romantic getaway, spending your honeymoon in an Irish castle is nothing like spending your honeymoon.

We have already established that Ireland is one of the most romantic honeymoon destinations in the world!

There are many castle hotels across Ireland; you can find one in any budget range.

Staying in an Irish castle feels like living in a fairytale, and many of them come complete with spas, luxury amenities, and stunning grounds.

Whether looking for a historical experience or modern luxury, an Irish castle honeymoon will create lasting memories.

There are fantastic Irish castle hotels across the country, so if you have a specific destination you want to explore, there’s bound to be one nearby.

However, I stayed in and had a lovely experience with Kilronan Castle, located in County Roscommon in the northern part of the Republic of Ireland.

This luxurious 4-star castle hotel is situated on the edge of a beautiful lake and within the Knockranny Woods.

It has an award-winning kitchen, chef, and a fantastic spa.

While one of the perks of your honeymoon is that the castle is a bit secluded, giving you plenty of opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and relax, there is a nearby town if you want to get out and explore.

The historic site of King House Boyle (a Georgian Mansion and Museum) and the Arigna Mining Experience are popular local attractions.

A few other things you can do while staying at Kilronan would be to take a romantic stroll through the woods, rent an electric bike, or go on an adventure on the nearby lake.
