1. Puerto Rico
Consider going to Puerto Rico if you want an adventure and relaxing place to honeymoon!
Nicknamed La Isla Encantada in Spanish (The Enchanted Island), Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island known for its rum, stunning beaches and gorgeous rainforests.
Unlike popular honeymoon destinations where you can shell out tons of money, Puerto Rico offers fewer alternatives to enjoy the slice of paradise relatively inexpensively.
Many outdoor activities in Puerto Rico can be done on a budget since they are mostly free or cheap.
For example, you can spend some time in Western Puerto Rico and enjoy places like Cabo Rojo, Rincón and the foodie capital, Mayagüez.
Another popular outdoor spot in Puerto Rico is El Yunque National Forest, the only rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System.
You can hike, zip line and enjoy the spectacular landscapes of the rainforest with waterfalls and scenic hiking trails.
But don’t think that Puerto Rico is all beaches and outdoors.
The island is a U.S. Territory and is the oldest colony in the world, where you can find many historical and cultural landmarks.
Wandering the streets of Old San Juan is one of the most romantic things on the island.
Here, you can take a food tour, taste rum and the signature drink, and learn about the island’s history from one of the local guides during the walking tour.
Visit Castillo San Felipe del Morro (known as the “El Morro”), a fortress and UNESCO World Heritage Site, a top historic landmark in Puerto Rico whose construction began in the 16th century.
Hotel and transportation will consume most of your honeymoon budget, so book it early!
Also, if you plan on taking any tours during your trip to Puerto Rico, booking them ahead of time is a good idea, as they can sell out quickly, especially during the high season.
Don’t forget to check out this list of the best honeymoon resorts in Puerto Rico for a relaxing time.

2. Miami
For newlyweds who want to kick back with a bit of fun in the sun, there is no better place in the US than Miami for an epic honeymoon.
Miami is ideal for couples who enjoy relaxing poolside or strolling white sand beaches but also want to enjoy the nightlife, art, shopping, and world-class dining!
This is one of the best adventurous and relaxing honeymoon destinations.
Start the honeymoon relaxing under a shady umbrella on Miami Beach or the water — visitors can go snorkelling and even charter a luxurious yacht for a romantic day at sea.
For those interested in art and culture, an Art Deco walking tour with the Miami Design Preservation League through South Beach is a must, along with heading into Miami’s artsy Wynwood neighbourhood.
Wynwood is home to an eclectic mix of independent shops, street art, and the unique Wynwood Walls, a street art and graffiti museum — there aren’t many like it in the world.
For dining, the choices are endless — Miami is home to some of the best restaurants in the US.
For a creative plant-based meal, don’t miss the chic PLANTA, known for Asian and globally-inspired fare like edamame dumplings, spicy “tuna,” and more.
To round out the honeymoon, visiting one of the many fabulous spas in Miami is a must.
You can find the most relaxing and extravagant ways to treat yourself, from a 24-karat gold exfoliation treatment (available at The Spa at the Miami Beach Edition) to easing muscle tension from all that wedding planning with a hot stone massage.
There is a wellness treatment for everyone!
For the most romantic honeymoon experience, the best place to stay in Miami is Miami Beach.
Honeymooners will have the best selection of resorts, from luxury to budget-friendly, and be steps from relaxation and exciting activities.

3. Green Island, Australia
Lovely Green Island is the perfect place if you’re looking for a tropical island honeymoon destination.
This lovely coral cay in Cairns, Australia, is surrounded by turquoise water, coral reefs, and stunning sandy beaches.
There are many relaxing honeymoon destinations worldwide, but I love Green Island!
Spend time relaxing in the sun, snorkelling on the reef, swimming with sea turtles and dugongs, and soaking in gorgeous island views.
Or, if you prefer, you can relax by the pool with a cocktail in your hand and do nothing much at all.
Gorgeous Green Island is one of the hundreds of tiny islands in the world’s most extensive coral reef system, the UNESCO world heritage Great Barrier Reef.
The island has several large sandy beaches perfect for swimming, snorkelling, and sunbathing.
And many other activities will keep you busy, like reef diving, kayaking, and paddle boarding for couples looking for more adventure on their honeymoon.
The small island is covered with lush tropical rainforest, and around 55 species of birds live and nest in the area.
Shaded pathways lead across the island, and it’s a short stroll to watch stunning sunrises and sunsets from the beach on either side of the cay.
Green Island has a luxury resort that provides comfortable accommodations that cater to your every need.
With facilities like a restaurant, bar, coffee shop and pool, you can escape from the world and enjoy the island vibe, the lovely beaches and the beautiful coral reefs of this tropical paradise.
You can view the resort right here!
The most exciting way to enjoy Green Island is from the air.
The resort has a helicopter pad, so you can charter a flight and arrive in style or take a scenic reef flight.
The views of Green Island and the surrounding coral reefs are stunning in a plane or helicopter!
Green Island is one of the most beautiful and accessible islands in far north Queensland, and you can get there in under an hour on a fast ferry from Cairns.
If you have never been to Australia, here is your chance!

4. New Zealand
If you are looking for an off-the-beaten-path but still relaxing honeymoon destination, you should consider having your honeymoon in New Zealand.
New Zealand is home to an incredible variety of landscapes.
From volcanos to glaciers to fiords, the views in New Zealand are otherworldly and genuinely allow your honeymoon to feel like a beautiful escape.
New Zealand has many things to do that make it the perfect honeymoon location for any adventurer.
New Zealand was put on the map after filming the famous Lord of the Rings movies.
During your honeymoon, you can visit “Hobbiton” and explore the Shire film set.
If you are not a Lord of the Rings fan, skip Hobbiton and head to the cozy Waitomo glow worm caves instead.
These caves are famous for their glow-in-the-dark worm species that look like fairy lights in a dark cave.
Cuddle beside your partner and enjoy a boat ride through the glowing caves.
If you and your partner are looking for a more active honeymoon, the many famous hikes in New Zealand are worth considering.
Roy’s Peak in the South Island is one of the most famous hikes in the country. This ten-mile hike offers an incredible view of the surrounding mountains and lakes.
If you want to relax with your partner during your honeymoon, Japanese-style Onsen private Onsen pools in Queenstown allow you to soak in privacy while looking out at the incredible stars.
If you want to take stargazing to the next level, you can book a stay at Skyscape, a glass-top house in a dark sky reserve near Lake Tekapo.
On a clear night, you might see the Milky Way with your bare eyes while sleeping under the stars with your partner.
New Zealand has so much to offer couples on a honeymoon, especially if you seek both an adventure and a relaxing time.
A few places to depending on the area you visit during your honeymoon:
- U Boutique Hotel

- M Social Auckland
- Kingsgate Hotel Dunedin

5. Portugal
There are so many romantic places in Portugal for couples to explore.
For a honeymoon with adventure and relaxation, I suggest going to Portugal!
Portugal is a fantastic place for a honeymoon because it has everything a couple could want: beautiful beaches, stunning coastlines, and delicious food.
Portugal is also very affordable, making it an excellent choice for couples on a budget.
The Portuguese people are incredibly welcoming and hospitable, making this a trip to remember.
One of the best places to explore in Portugal for a honeymoon is Porto, where you can spend a few days.
This charming city contains cobbled streets, captivating architecture, and incredible food.
Couples can take a river cruise along the Douro River.
To make your honeymoon memorable, head across the river to Vila Nova de Gaia for some port wine tasting.
Many fantastic restaurants exist, such as Casa Guedes for the best bifanas or Gazela’s for Portuguese hot dogs.
The best part about Porto is seeing all the architecture covered in azulejos or painted ceramic tiles.
Visit the Chapel of the Souls and quickly stop inside the Sao Bento train station to truly admire the beauty of the azulejos.
After visiting Porto, couples on their honeymoon can travel south to Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city.
The best part about Lisbon is the many stunning miradouros, or viewpoints, from which to see the vibrant city from above.
Hop on the Gloria Tram from Restauradores Square to visit one of the best miradouros in Lisbon, Sao Pedro de Alcantara.
Vendors usually sell authentic Portuguese food, and musicians play music on weekends.
Another romantic trip to take while in Portugal is to visit Sintra, a city packed with fairytale castles, and Cascais, which has long stretches of beautiful beaches.
Overall, there is much to explore and discover on a honeymoon in Portugal.
From Porto’s captivating city to Lisbon’s vibrant energy, this will surely be a honeymoon you will never forget!

6. Hvar, Croatia
What could be a more romantic honeymoon destination than an island along the Adriatic?
Hvar, Croatia, was voted the second-best honeymoon destination in Europe in 2019, and it’s not hard to see why!
This enchanting island is shrouded in romantic jewels from its pine-covered forests, brilliant beaches, and couple-friendly restaurants.
As an island, one of the best things to do in Hvar is to hop aboard a boat and get out on the water.
There is no shortage of boating options, whether you wish to explore the island, visit the nearby Pakleni islands on a day trip, or do some island-hopping to the neighbouring island of Korcula.
Hvar is also covered in beaches, so beach-hopping is definitely in order.
Rent a car and explore beautiful Pokonji Dol Beach on the outskirts of Hvar Town.
Beyond the sea, Hvar has plenty to offer couples on land.
One of the most popular excursions is Trdava Fortica, the Spanish Fortress.
Perched atop a hill overlooking the island, it offers breathtaking panoramic views over Hvar Town.
A couple’s sunset hike is one of the most romantic ways to experience the island as a duo.
Honeymooners will also not want to miss a day trip to Stari Grad, the oldest town on the island of Hvar.
This romantic and serene town offers a different vibe than glamorous Hvar Town and is perfect for some much-needed quality time and relaxation.
Make a reservation at the idyllic Eremitaž for an unforgettable dinner under the stars with the beautiful waterfront as your backdrop.
Fortunately, this Adriatic island caters to couples, so numerous boutique hotels in Hvar are ideal for honeymooners.
For a splurge, consider 5-star Palace Elisabeth, Hvar’s most historic hotel or Hotel Mooesy, set amongst a tranquil pine forest by the sea.
7. Rome, Italy
This romantic city is a beautiful place for any couple on their honeymoon.
Rome is known as the Romantic Eternal City for a reason.
If you want the most adventurous and relaxing honeymoon destinations, go to Rome.
The beautiful city offers a mix of cultural, historical and romantic things to do for those on their honeymoon.
The options are limitless, whether you go on a Vespa ride through the historical center or a stunning moonlight tour of the Colosseum after hours.
Those visiting Rome for the first time should plan a visit to the monuments like the Colosseum, the Vatican, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the many squares and piazzas the city has to offer.
Book your tours and tickets ahead of time for the best experience at these crowded spots.
The eternal city gets even more magical once the sun sets and the night lights appear.
I recommend taking a moonlit stroll or visiting one of the many viewpoints in Rome to see the city lit up.
My favourite viewpoint is the Gianicolo Terrace, where you can view the entire city and all the main monuments.
Those looking for a more relaxing honeymoon experience in Rome can plan a day at the QC Terme spa in Fiumicino.
The establishment offers various packages for couples’ massages and has sauna and spa rooms that can be used by buying the day package.
For the foodies, there are plenty of things to try on your trip to the eternal city.
Make sure you try some Napolitana pizza at Sorbillos, the tastiest carbonara at Luciano’s and the other local pasta dishes at some of the city hotspots.
My favourite street food is Porchetta, which you can find at various supermarkets or salumerias in the city.
Rome is one of the best relaxing honeymoon destinations, but also perfect for those looking for romance and adventure.
For romantic places to stay in Rome, check out the Relais Trevi 95 Boutique Hotel, Boutique Hotel Nerva, The Inn at the Spanish Steps or Hotel Raphael!

8. South Moravia, Czech Republic
For a unique and relaxing honeymoon destination spoiled with romantic landscapes of rolling green hills, fairy tale castles, and top-notch wine, look no further than the hidden gem region of South Moravia.
Located in the southern corner of the Czech Republic, South Moravia is a well-kept secret, mainly amongst the Czech people.
The fantastic wine from this region is not exported, meaning you can only enjoy it at its source.
While here, couples can split their time between exploring the region’s stunningly well-preserved castles and historic villages and visiting the many wineries and vineyards.
The most romantic castles to visit are Lednice Castle, Valtice Palace, and Vranov Nad Dyji Chateau.
You can book these private tours!
The most picturesque town not to miss would be the colourful town of Mikulov.
This makes a good base in South Moravia for exploring the surrounding towns and wineries due to its location and scenic beauty.
Its narrow cobbled streets, lush castle gardens, and stunning views of the vineyards as far as the eye can see make it a very romantic destination.
The medieval town of Znojmo nearby also features a beautiful old village set along a winding river valley of yet more wineries.
Here, you’ll be able to enjoy wine tasting with amazing views of the Thaya River below.
In almost every town in South Moravia, you will have plenty of opportunities to try the local grape in one of the many wine-tasting rooms and cellars.
Couples can enjoy many other romantic activities, such as renting a bike and riding through the hilly vineyards on a day tour or splurging on a hot air balloon ride at sunset.
Both activities can be booked in Mikulov via the tourist center.
South Moravia is a fantastic honeymoon destination because it is highly indulgent and affordable.
A glass of wine is only a couple of dollars here, and you can easily splash out on the best hotel rooms for a fraction of Western European prices.
Visiting South Moravia for your honeymoon would be epic!

9. Japan
Visiting Japan for your honeymoon is a cultural adventure.
The country is a foodie heaven and one of the most incredible destinations.
Japan showcases majestic temples, shrines, gardens, and national parks embedded within a millennial culture.
The food culture might be one of the best reasons to visit Japan for your honeymoon.
To celebrate your new union, nothing can be more memorable than to dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Tokyo holds the World record for the most Michelin-starred restaurants in a city.
Hakone is the perfect romantic couple getaway from Tokyo and can be visited as a day trip from the capital.
I recommend purchasing the Hakone Free Pass to get there!
Renowned for its numerous onsen and beautiful mountain views, it is also home to the iconic red torii gates across Ashi Lake with Mount Fuji in the background.
What can be more romantic than this?
You must stay at least one night in a Ryokan; find time in your itinerary.
These are traditional Japanese-style inns.
They are mainly concentrated around the Kyoto area, in the Japan Alps and by the coast.
What makes a Ryokan special is that they are traditional Japanese houses, and most of the time, they are family-owned, passed from generation to generation with only a handful of rooms.
These inns are a perfect example of Japanese hospitality.
Most Ryokans have private onsens (hot spring baths) and gardens.
The Ryokan have either full-board or half-board formulas, and they will bring the food to your room.
Don’t forget to say that you are on your honeymoon, and they will make your stay even more special!
If you visit Japan for the first time, you should stop at Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara& Hiroshima.
They will give you the perfect mix of city and nature adventures.
This is the ideal location for couples looking for adventure and relaxing honeymoon destinations!

10. Arches National Park, US
Are you looking for adventurous and relaxing honeymoon destinations you can enjoy?
One of the most fun and unique places couples should think about visiting for their honeymoon is Arches National Park in Utah.
Outdoorsy couples will love exploring this area and enjoying each other’s company.
Arches National Park has many things to do, such as driving to all the scenic viewpoints, hiking, stargazing and watching incredible sunsets.
If you’re looking for the best viewpoints, make sure that you check out Park Avenue, Panorama Point, Balanced Rock and the Windows area.
Each viewpoint is unique and offers different things to see, but they are also really accessible and can either be seen right from your car or a short walk.
For the best hikes in Arches, check out Delicate Arch, Devil’s Garden and Turret Arch.
For a romantic evening inside the park, pack and picnic with some cheese, crackers and wine and head to Turret Arch to watch the sunset.
Don’t forget a warm blanket and a headlamp to return to your car!
Besides enjoying everything the park offers, there are many other amazing things to do in the area.
For an ultra-romantic honeymoon, check out Sorrel River Ranch Resort, an incredible spa resort right on the river that offers all-inclusive packages for a relaxing time.
For a relaxing romantic honeymoon time, don’t forget to make reservations at Desert Bistro, located in Moab.
Desert Bistro is a fine-dining French restaurant with a Southwest flare and is perfect for a romantic evening after exploring the park all day.

11. Puerto Escondido, Mexico
Find a romantic honeymoon resort in Puerto Escondido for a fun and relaxing time.
Tucked away on the Oaxaca Coast of Mexico is the beautiful, hidden beach town of Puerto Escondido.
While Puerto Escondido has historically drawn in a relaxed crowd of surfers and yogis, travellers are starting to recognize its magic and romance.
For this reason, it had to reach the top of the list of relaxing honeymoon destinations for couples to explore.
Because the masses haven’t yet discovered Puerto Escondido, it retains much of its authentic Mexican charm.
It also means you won’t find chain hotels and massive resorts monopolizing the coast.
Instead, Puerto Escondido offers beautiful boutique hotels in prime locations that are much more affordable than a similar property in a popular tourist area.
Puerto Escondido is the spot for you, no matter how active or private you want your honeymoon.
It is one of the best relaxing honeymoon destinations that offers adventure activities for couples who need them.
Areas in the south end of towns, like Playa Zicatela and La Punta, are significant when you want to be in the heart of the action.
Beachfront bars and restaurants with a bohemian flare are the norm here, but the main attraction is the sunset.
Every night, travellers and locals find a spot on the beach to watch as the most stunningly dramatic sunsets paint the sky in surreal colours that must be seen to be believed.
The north end of Puerto Escondido is where you’ll find the quieter areas of Bacocho and Carrizalillo.
This part of town is home to two of the quietest and most beautiful beaches, so take a stroll, try a surf lesson, or relax with a cold drink.
This part of town also has some of the most romantic restaurants.
Espadín Restaurante has the best view in town, perched atop a clifftop overlooking the bay with a clear sunset view.
Rinconada has a strip of delicious restaurants like Almoraduz, which may have the best food in town.
This incredible modern Oaxacan restaurant is just steps from the entrance to the stunning hidden beach of Playa Carrizalillo.
But great food and beautiful beaches aren’t all Puerto Escondido offers.
How about floating under the stars in a bioluminescent lagoon or riding horseback through the jungle to relax in the hot springs?
Sip mezcal at a traditional distillery or kayak through the mangroves on a rare bird safari; there are many ways to make memories here.
Puerto Escondido offers something for everyone, and its under-the-radar status makes it excellent value for honeymooners.
There’s so much to experience here; it’s easy to see why travellers are starting to choose this spot for a romantic getaway.

12. Death Valley National Park, US
If magical desert oases and galaxy skies interest you, you might enjoy an adventurous honeymoon!
Consider a romantic honeymoon at Death Valley National Park in Southern California, conveniently located 2 hours by car from Las Vegas Airport.
Couples can enjoy various outdoor activities, from scenic viewpoints to challenging hiking routes.
You and your partner can walk hand in hand, imagining you are on the moon as you explore the crystal, hexagonal salt formations at Badwater Basin.
Paint your bright future!
Get inspired at Artists Palette, where multi-colour rock formations resemble an abstract painting.
Complete the entire Artists Palette drive or hike around the area.
Wake up early together as you bask in an unforgettable sunrise from Zabriskie Point, where the pink sky makes way for the jagged badlands.
Other couples looking further off the beaten path may enjoy RV or Tent camping at one of Death Valley’s three campgrounds.
Be sure to complete your camping reservation online in advance.
You and your partner can stargaze the night for a cozy evening.
Death Valley’s location away from light pollution makes stargazing an ideal activity.
Want to add some luxury to your honeymoon?
Consider staying at The Inn at Death Valley for a resort-like experience featuring two pools, fine dining, and the world’s lowest-elevation golf course.
The Inn Dining Room serves classic cuisine with a regional touch, including cactus, citrus, and date.
Enjoy entirely unobstructed views of the desert and mountain oasis, enjoying your meal from the terrace, weather permitting.
The most recommended times of year to visit are between Fall and Spring.
Summer boasts groundbreaking high temperatures- with little to no shade at the park; it is advised that you and your honey ear on the side of caution and choose an alternate month!
Couples looking for relaxing honeymoon destinations with adventure should try Death Valley National Park.
Here is a fantastic 2-day itinerary for Death Valley National Park.
13. Bali, Indonesia
You should consider heading to Bali if you are looking for relaxing honeymoon destinations!
Bali is the perfect honeymoon destination and a favourite among newlyweds looking for a tropical getaway on a budget.
Anyone needing relaxing honeymoon destinations should have Bali on their bucket list.
The island has a lot to offer, like rice terraces in beautiful Ubud, upscale beach clubs in Seminyak and Uluwatu, quiet luxury getaways in Bali’s north and the ability to swim with green sea turtles right by the beach on the nearby Gili Islands.
There is truly something for everyone, no matter if you’re a couple who prefers secluded privacy or an action-packed adventure with your loved one.
If you want a honeymoon with adventure and relaxation, this location is for you.
A must-do for all honeymooners visiting Bali is to make some silver jewellery in the area close to Sidemen.
For as little as $40 per person, you can make a customized piece like a ring or bracelet with the help of a skilled craftsman who will guide you.
Not only will you have a fun day, but you’ll also get to take a unique item home to remember your trip forever.
Another fun activity is a cooking class found all over the island, most notably in Ubud.
Learn about Indonesian cuisine and discover new recipes you can take home with you.
Those looking for more adventure need to head north to Lovina, where you can swim with dolphins early in the morning.
They’ll come right up to your boat, and you can get up close and swim alongside them in the crystal-clear waters.
After many activities, you’ll want to rest and relax in a private villa in Uluwatu with ocean views and a floating breakfast in your private pool.
Don’t forget that a romantic couple’s massage and other beauty treatments are affordable and the perfect way to be spoiled before heading home.
The island is filled with so many gems beyond the tourist area.
Take the time to explore.
I suggest going to Ubud or Canggu for your honeymoon.
Jimbaran is also a great area.
Here is a list of hotels to stay in Ubud!
And the best place to stay in Canggu for your honeymoon is Hotel Tugu!
Don’t also forget to check villas for romantic accommodations.
For resorts, I recommend the Ayana Resort in Bali.
The best time to visit Bali for your Honeymoon is during the island’s dry season.
From May to October, you won’t have to worry about rain ruining outdoor activities, and humidity levels are low all summer.

14. Dubai
Dubai is a trendy honeymoon spot for multiple reasons.
Firstly, the service and hotel standards are incredibly high, perfect for those looking for a luxury getaway.
Secondly, it has perfect sunny weather nearly all year round.
Third, it has beautiful beaches, and finally, it’s incredibly safe.
It is also one of the best relaxing honeymoon destinations in the world.
You will be spoilt for choice regarding food, activities, accommodation and romantic spots to enjoy; we will give you the most recommended options.
Dubai has many hotels to choose from; Palm Jumeirah is extremely popular for honeymoons since many have private beaches and stunning sea or beach villas to stay in on the larger resorts.
So, if you want to relax in private, these are ideal for honeymoon couples!
It is secluded from the hustle of Dubai.
Anantara would be one of our top picks here.
Anantara is famous for its upscale hotels.
Just check out this Palm Dubai resort.
If you want somewhere romantic to eat, Pier Chic is one of the best places for couples.
Set out on the Arabian Sea on a wooden pier, hence the name, this low-lit restaurant serves a great selection of fresh seafood or grill options for those who aren’t seafood lovers.
The restaurant is pricier, but you’ll find the service impeccable and an in-house sommelier who can recommend wines to accompany your meal.
We highly recommend renting a car and taking a trip to Love Lake for activities.
It is possible to get there by taxi, but it is far from the main areas.
If you go just before sunset, it’s a lovely area to enjoy nature and take long romantic walks.
Maybe a little cheesy, but it is your honeymoon, after all!
It’s also free!
Another excellent option is to have a couple’s spa at Talise Spa Zabeel Saray on Palm Jumeirah.
Not all spas and hotels allow couples to have treatments together; however, this one even has rose petal-covered jacuzzis to enjoy together in their special dedicated couple treatment areas.
It’s worth the splurge in this luxury 5-star hotel!
Dubai offers an exciting city getaway and a quiet, relaxing beach vacation, so you can truly enjoy the best of both types of honeymoons here.
If you are looking for the best adventure honeymoon destinations, I suggest booking a trip to Dubai.
15. Kauai, Hawaii
With so many unique adventures and relaxing honeymoon destinations, we couldn’t leave Kauai off this list.
It’s no secret that Hawaii is the ultimate honeymoon destination, especially for couples who crave adventure as much as they love romantic sunsets at the beach.
None of the eight main islands in Hawaii compares to the lush, dramatic landscapes and shorelines of Kauai.
The ultimate experience for your honeymoon in Kauai is a helicopter ride over the entire island.
It will be the tour of your life as you soar the Na Pali coast and stare into the depths of the Waimea Canyon.
While in the sky, it is common to find yourself surrounded by rainbows!
Just as you start thinking it couldn’t get any better, you will descend toward the 400’ waterfall used in the film of the original Jurassic Park blockbuster.
The whole ride is a dream, making it the perfect excursion to experience together as newlyweds.
Consider asking for the ‘doors off Air Kauai Helicopter tour,’ giving an added thrill plus the chance for even better photos and videos.
Whale Watching and Sunset Cruises are other romantic ways to spend time together in Kauai on your honeymoon.
Despite its small size, the land on Kauai is quite diverse.
The island’s north end gets more rain, while the south is the driest area.
Intermittent rain showers aside, the north shore is where you will want to be for stunning sunsets from Hanalei Bay and to hike the Hanakapi’ai Trail for breathtaking views of the Na Pali coast.
Kauai is nicknamed the wettest place on earth, so ensure you’re prepared with rain gear and hiking boots for muddy trails.
On the island’s south end, an easy coastal hike, you will find the Maha’ulepu Trail east of Poipu.
Keep your eyes peeled along the coast and at Poipu Beach for Monk Seals.
If you and your partner enjoy coffee or beer, taste the island’s unique flavours at Kauai Brewing Company or Kauai Coffee.
If you are travelling between the north and south shores of the island, consider stopping to swim at the bottom of Wailua Falls.
After the waterfall, enjoy Poké from Pono Market or devour tacos from Tiki Tacos.
Kauai, the Garden Island, is a tropical paradise and an extraordinary place to connect with your soulmate.
The Ko’a Kea Hotel and Resort is, hands down, my favourite honeymoon resort on the island of Kauai.
Another place to consider is the Koloa Landing Resort, which is excellent for couples looking for relaxing honeymoon destinations.

The beautiful island of Sifnos is a real jewel in Greece and a fabulous tip for an unforgettable romantic couple trip.
This island pearl is located in the Cyclades and can be reached by ferry from Athens.
The arrival by ferry is already a beautiful experience with fantastic views of the Aegean Sea.
Those looking for relaxing honeymoon destinations should consider Sifnos in Greece.
The perfect island dream awaits you because Sifnos is scenically beautiful, and the many beaches are a real highlight.
Other unique features are the numerous Cycladic churches spread around the island, which conjure a unique backdrop.
The most famous is the monastery of Chrisopigi, which is in a fantastic location by the sea.
Also, the church of the Seven Martyrs, located on a mini-island, is stunning.
The island’s windmills and dovecotes are also beautiful, conjuring a romantic ambiance.
Although the island of Sifnos is tiny, you can experience numerous fabulous things during your romantic couple vacation.
For example, the island has high mountains that are perfect for hiking.
Also, the beaches of Sifnos are stunning and perfect for a beach vacation in the Cyclades.
The island is known for its pottery.
You can find pottery and workshops in many places to buy great pottery.
A great tip is also courses where you can learn the techniques.
Another must-see is the many romantic villages on the island.
Please visit the capital, Apollonia, with its charming white, old town.
You will find numerous fabulous restaurants and taverns, perfect for romantic evenings. Also worth seeing is Kastro, a castle settlement with a magnificent view of the turquoise sea.
During a romantic walk, you can enjoy the most beautiful scenery on the island.
This destination is full of many romantic accommodations, which makes it a perfect vacation spot for your honeymoon.
Especially in the early and late seasons, you can find them for a reasonable price.
I highly recommend the beautiful Elies Resorts, a 5-star hotel with a pool right by the bright blue sea.

17. Bordeaux, France
You will find many unique romantic honeymoon destinations in Europe.
There is just something special about France.
Paris is known internationally as the city of love.
But locals know the most romantic city in France is its southerly neighbour, Bordeaux.
And it’s the perfect honeymoon destination for wine lovers.
One of the best ways to see the city is on foot.
Visit the old town to experience the world’s largest reflecting pool.
Located by the Place de la Bourse, it cycles through fog, pool, and mirror states every 15 minutes.
Then stop by Le Bar a Vin, an art-filled wine bar.
Try the classic pairing of foie gras and Sauternes.
Or choose from their list of 30 different Bordeaux wines, all available by the glass.
Next, head to the river, where you can stroll the boardwalk that parallels the Garonne River.
Grab a seat at one of the many waterfront restaurants and enjoy each other’s company over some tasty seafood and French cuisine.
Continue north on the boardwalk to reach La Cité du Vin, proclaimed the “Guggenheim of wine.”
This iconic gold and silver building houses 10 stories of interactive exhibits.
Learn about winemaking and wine regions worldwide in a fun and engaging format.
Then, head to the top floor for a complimentary wine tasting and spectacular city views.
You can also dine at the panoramic Restaurant Le 7.
And don’t miss the circular-shaped Latitude 20 wine cellar with more than 14,000 bottles worldwide.
If you’re an art enthusiast, check out Les Bassins de Lumières.
This former WWII U-boat base has been converted into an exhibition space where you can experience the artwork of Gustav Klimt in an immersive format.
Outside of the city, visiting Bordeaux wineries is a must-do.
For Cabernet lovers, book one that goes to Bordeaux’s left bank.
You can tour prestigious chateaus, many included in Bordeaux’s 1855 Classification.
Visit the vineyards, learn about winemaking, and taste outstanding wines.
For a romantic experience, spend a night or two in Saint Emilion.
Just a 30-minute train ride from the city, this medieval village is in the heart of wine country on Bordeaux’s right bank.
Start at the Maison du Vin visitor center, where you can learn about the region’s Merlot-based wines.
Then, stroll the cobblestoned streets and explore the cute wine shops and restaurants.
The Cordeliers cloister is a must-see.
Visit the historic monolithic church and then sip on some delicious sparkling wine.
You can also book a wine tasting at a few esteemed wineries in town, including Chateau Villemaurine and Chateau Guadet.
No matter what you choose to do, newlyweds will find plenty of love in this romantic destination.

18. Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Located on Mexico’s Caribbean coast just 1 hour south of Cancun, Playa del Carmen is a popular honeymoon destination with tropical beaches and warm year-round weather.
The destination offers an affordable beach honeymoon with various accommodation options and quick and easy flights from the United States and Canada.
Playa del Carmen offers a great mix of romantic experiences, cultural attractions, and exciting adventure activities.
Playa del Carmen is known simply as “Playa” to locals.
It is around 5th Avenue, a pedestrian-only street with shops, restaurants, and bars.
This area is the most happening part of town and is an excellent place for couples to explore during the day.
At night, you can dine at high-end restaurants like Plank or Sonora Grill Prime for a romantic evening out or indulge in craft cocktails at one of the many rooftop bars.
Regarding accommodations, Playa del Carmen offers many fabulous all-inclusive resorts and flight packages with luxury amenities, including swimming pools, on-site restaurants, and world-class spas.
Everything is handled on your honeymoon – including meals, drinks, and resort activities.
My top recommended resorts in Playa del Carmen are Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen Adults Only All-Inclusive, Paradisus Playa del Carmen – All Inclusive, and Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen Adults Only All-Inclusive!
If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, plenty of vacation rentals in the downtown area offer walkability and easy access to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.
Besides relaxing on the beach and sipping margaritas by the pool, there are many other things to do and see on your honeymoon in Playa del Carmen.
You can explore the nearby Mayan ruins like the Tulum Ruins or Chichen Itza, go snorkelling or scuba diving, swim at one of the many freshwater cenotes, visit an adventure park, or take a romantic sunset catamaran sail on the Caribbean Sea.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing honeymoon filled with sun and sand or an adventurous getaway full of activities, Playa del Carmen is the perfect destination for your honeymoon.
