How to Get to Steamboat Springs, CO

The best way to get to Steamboat is to fly into Denver. 

Rent a car and drive from Denver to Steamboat, which takes you out of the city and through the mountains on a 3-hour trip.

Take I-70 west to CO-9 in Silverthorne. 

This is a great halfway point to get out and grab lunch or a snack.

CO-9 will take you to Kremmling, where you will turn left at the main stoplight in town onto US-40.

Stay on this through Rabbit Ears Pass until you arrive in Steamboat Springs. 

Rabbit Ears receives tons of snow each year. 

During snowstorms, visibility can be rough, and you’ll have to take it slow. 

But the pass is kept clear throughout the winter if it’s not snowing.
