The weather in November is great for hiking as the rainy season is over!
To get to Ajusco, you can take a taxi or an Uber from the city center.
The ride takes about an hour, depending on traffic. Once you arrive, you’ll find several trails, ranging from easy to complex.
One of the most popular trails is the La Marquesa Trail.
It’s a moderate hike that takes about three hours to complete.
Along the way, you’ll see stunning views of the city and the surrounding mountains.

Chapultepec Park covers over 1,600 acres and is one of the largest urban parks in the world (it’s 4 times the size of Central Park!)
There’s plenty to see and do in Chapultepec Park, no matter your interests.
History buffs will love exploring the Chapultepec Castle, once the home of Mexican royalty and now houses the National Museum of History.
The castle offers stunning city views and is a great place to take photos.
If you’re a nature lover, you’ll love the park’s many gardens and green spaces, including the Botanical Garden and the Japanese Garden.
If you’re looking for something more active, there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation in Chapultepec Park.
You can rent a paddleboat and explore the park’s lake, jog on one of the many trails, or rent a bike and explore the park on two wheels.

7. Visit The Xochimilco Canals
Xochimilco is a neighbourhood in the south of Mexico City famous for its canals and colourful boats called “trajineras.”
You can rent a trajinera for a few hours and float along the canals while enjoying traditional Mexican food and drinks.
The canals are surrounded by beautiful gardens and chinampas, floating gardens that the Aztecs used to grow crops.
You can even buy fresh produce from local vendors selling goods from their trajineras.
One of the highlights of the Xochimilco Canals is the “Island of the Dolls,” a small island covered in dolls.
Legend has it that a man named Don Julian Santana Barrera found the body of a young girl in the canals and was haunted by her spirit.
He started hanging dolls on the trees to appease her ghost, and the tradition continued after his death.
During October and November, the islands in Xochimilco become host to a play called “La Llorona,” which has a massive Day of the Dead focus!
It occurs at night, and you watch it from a boat over the canals.

Mercado de Artesanías La Ciudadela
Not to be confused with the La Ciudadela Market mentioned above, the Mercado de Artesanías La Ciudadela is another excellent spot for traditional Mexican crafts.
This market is located near Chapultepec Park and is known for its wide selection of embroidered clothing, hand-painted ceramics, and leather goods.
You can also find some unique items like carved wooden masks and musical instruments and, of course, plenty of Day of the Dead crafts.

If you’re wondering if Mexico City is safe, the answer is generally yes!
Like any big city, Mexico City has its share of safety concerns, but they’re nothing to worry about if you keep proper precautions.
In November, Mexico City hosts plenty of super crowded festivals, such as the Day of the Dead Parade.
If you plan on attending, take care of your belongings, as pickpocketing can be problematic.
But other than that, I can say that visiting Mexico City in November is fun and perfect for couples looking for an adventure.
