10 Wedding Tips For Brides On Her Wedding Day
1. The Night Before Wedding Day
Although not technically the actual wedding day, it can feel like it.
What you do the night before your wedding will determine how your day will go on your wedding day.
They don’t tell you it will feel like how Christmas eve used to feel when you were 6 years old!
If you have a traditional wedding in which you won’t see the groom the night before, it could be good to get your bridesmaids together and have a pamper session because you won’t get to sleep anytime soon.
I have heard of brides staying up all night long.
You honestly do not want dark circles around your eyes or looking tired on the day.
One of the best wedding tips for brides is to try to get some sleep before your wedding day.
I get it, nerves are high, and your mind is probably full of last-minute wedding details and concerns.
If you have a wedding planner, wedding coordinator or people helping you on the day, such as family members, send them a quick note about these concerns and let them handle them.
One of my top advice for the bride on her wedding day is to let all of that go and try to get a good night’s sleep after your pamper session.
2. First Thing In The Morning Of Your Big Day
If you did manage to get some sleep which we highly recommended, you would want to take a moment to yourself before getting up and out of bed.
The day will go by extremely quickly.
You will be so excited to get up and ready to see everyone.
But they don’t tell you that this might be the only time you get to yourself before the ceremony and even on that entire day.
Yes, even going to the bathroom, you will need help so that someone will be with you.
Trust me when I say everyone will want to surround you as soon as they see you.
It is your wedding day, after all.
My best wedding advice here is to take all the time you need.
Spend time reflecting on how you want the day to go; it will be perfect.
It’s all about positive thinking.
Try some of our wedding day affirmations.
They are the perfect wedding day advice quotes for brides.
3. Top Tips for Brides – Eat Breakfast
My best tip for the bride-to-be is to eat!
Today isn’t typical, but you still need to do everyday things like having your breakfast.
My best advice for the bride and groom on this day is to eat!
You might not get another bite until dinner, around 5 or 6 pm.
You will need energy and nutrients to last that long.
They don’t tell you just how exhausting it can be to get married.
When we say you will be surrounded and people will pull in all directions, we mean it.
Your glam team will need you; the bridal party will have questions, photographers will want to take every photo, and florists will be around you giving you your bouquet.
Next thing you know, you are off to the ceremony, the congratulations will start, and woof – you are quickly whisked off for photos.
By the time all of that is done, it will be dinner time.
And even that doesn’t start right away.
So make sure to get all the energy you can by enjoying the day’s most important meal.
Sitting in your PJs or cute bathrobes with the rest of your bridesmaids, it will be exciting to talk about what lies ahead.
My best advice for brides is to eat a light breakfast such as:
- Healthy smoothie
- Granola and yogurt mix
- Whole-grain bagel with cream cheese
- Fruits
- Lots of water
Have your bridesmaids carry something small for you to eat during the day or even your wedding planner in their wedding day survival kit.
By the time you sit down at your wedding reception for dinner, it could be closer to 7 pm.
You will probably get plenty of wedding tips and tricks, which is excellent.
But my top recommended advice for the bride on her wedding day is to try to eat something small throughout the day.
And if not, at least have breakfast.
Don’t forget to stay hydrated.
4. Best Bride Tips For Getting Ready
This is when it will start to kick in that you are getting married today!
My best wedding day advice is to try to relax.
We promise that the most memorable time of the day, or weekend, will be something you never expected.
Having people do your hair and makeup feels like the first step to becoming the bride.
Relax and let people fuss over you.
You deserve it.
After all, you’ve been planning this day for months and no doubt been stressed about it all too.
So now is your time to sit back and let things happen.
On my wedding day, I wanted everything to go according to plan that I could barely relax.
But when my glam team arrived, I let it all go.
Once you put on your wedding dress, it will be “go time.”
So be sure to enjoy the process that you spent months planning.
5. Travelling To The Wedding Venue
After all the excitement of getting ready and going over everything with your wedding party, the journey to the wedding ceremony venue can be quiet.
They don’t tell you that these quiet times are sometimes some of the best moments of your wedding day.
Whether sitting in the car with your dad or taking a stolen minute or two to talk to your best friend without anyone else around.
These moments can be the most meaningful.
And what if your wedding venues are both in the same location you are getting ready?
Does it mean you can’t enjoy some time for yourself?
You absolutely can.
You can ask your wedding party to leave you the room by yourself, the maid of honour or a family member.
6. 10 Minutes Before The Ceremony
You are dressed in your picture-perfect wedding gown, your veil is in position, and you are ready to make your way to the altar.
They never say that these 10 minutes will be the most nerve-wracking minutes of your day before walking down the aisle.
And no wonder.
Everything has been leading up to this moment that is just about to come, and you’re making a huge life-changing decision to spend the rest of your life with your partner.
But remember, you know that your soon-to-be new spouse is waiting for you on the other side of that aisle, ready to be your husband.
If you start getting a case of stage fright (as it happens to all of us) right before you walk down the aisle, don’t stress out too much!
This is normal.
Do your best to breathe it out and let it all go.
You don’t want to rush through it like a class presentation, so remember to savour the moment and enjoy every second as you walk down the aisle.
7. Best Wedding Ceremony Tip
Remember you are getting married to the love of your life, your best friend.
Every love story has something unique to celebrate, which means every wedding day is bound to be different.
The actual wedding ceremony portion is truly unique and should be cherished.
They don’t tell you that this moment is the best part of the whole day between the traditions, family and friends close by, all happy and smiling for you.
Make sure to take it all in; you will want to keep this memory for the rest of your life.
My wedding day advice for you is to concentrate on the end goal.
The reason you are here is to marry the love of your life.
8. Leaving as Husband and Wife
Walking down the aisle hand in hand will feel more incredible than you ever thought it could.
You’ve just said your vows, a high point of your wedding day.
I am sure you can feel all the love and joy in the room.
They don’t tell you that it’s possible to cry and smile the widest smile you’ve ever had all at the same time.
Or that your face will hurt from smiling so much.
Congratulations, you are married.
Officially!
9. The Wedding Reception
Our best wedding tip for brides is to be in the moment.
Enjoying time with your wedding guests and family members should be next on your agenda.
After all, they all came out to witness your love unite, and they wanted to celebrate you.
Seeing all your friends and family as you walk into your reception together, you’ll feel an overpowering sense of love and support from those around you.
They don’t tell you how much you will appreciate everyone at your reception.
Drink, dance and celebrate today with all those closest to you and your now-husband.
Hopefully, you prepared a fabulous wedding reception playlist to dance the night away.
10. Best Wedding Day Tip For The End of the Night
The first dance has been done, and the cake’s been cut—it’s time for the grand finale.
Leaving for the night can be challenging.
You’ll not want this day to end.
But after spending so much time in the company of others, it is a good feeling to go back to wherever you are staying for the night and be alone with your husband.
They don’t tell you that you won’t be sad that this day is over, but so happy and excited for every day to come as a married couple.
The best advice for brides on their wedding day is to plan to say bye to their guests.
